Ces professionnels se trouvent dans les Centres de Compétence des fentes labio-palatines du réseau MAFACE. Cependant, l'accès aux soins dans ces centres, notamment l'accompagnement à l'allaitement, peut être compromis par des aspects physiques, temporels, financiers et culturels. Notre travail vise à recenser les besoins d'accompagnement des mères d'un enfant avec une fente oro-faciale qui ont souhaité débuter un allaitement et n'ayant pas été suivies dans un Centre de Compétence du réseau MAFACE pour l'allaitement. Nous avons émis l'hypothèse que les mères abandonnent leur projet d'allaitement maternel ou qu'elles mènent à bien leur projet. Nous avons ainsi mené quatre entretiens semi-dirigés. Les données recueillies ont mis en exergue des difficultés pour mettre en place l'allaitement maternel, un manque de connaissances de la part des professionnels de maternité sur la malformation et l'absence de professionnels pour accompagner à l'allaitement dans certains Centres de Compétence. L'analyse des résultats a permis d'identifier les besoins d'accompagnement pour ces mères : l'information et l'accompagnement par des professionnels formés et l'échange avec d'autres parents ayant vécu la même expérience. Nous avons ainsi formulé une perspective de valorisation de la place de l'orthophoniste pour l'accompagnement à l'allaitement maternel. Nous avons également proposé la création d'une brochure d'information à destination des parents sur les ressources existantes à propos des fentes oro-faciales et de l'allaitement ainsi que des actions de formation sur l'allaitement maternel et les fentes oro-faciales à destination du personnel de maternité.
