Book Abuse of Dominant Position New Interpretation New Enforcement Mechanisms

Download or read book Abuse of Dominant Position New Interpretation New Enforcement Mechanisms written by Mark-Oliver Mackenrodt and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-07-25 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As part of its review of competition law that started in the late 1990s, the European Commission proposes to revise its interpretation and application of the Treaty’s prohibition of abuses of dominant positions. Also, it has instigated a debate about the promotion of private enforcement of EC competition law. On the former subject, the Commission published a Discussion Paper in 2005; on the latter, a Green Paper in 2005, followed by a White Paper in 2008. The chapters in this volume critically appraise the Commission’s proposals, including the most recent ones. The authors also highlight the repercussions of the proposed ‘more economic approach’ to abuses of dominant positions on private litigants’ opportunities to bring damages actions in national courts for such abuses.

Book PROMOTION DE LA SANTE ET AUTONOMISATION DANS LE CONTEXTE AFRICAIN

Download or read book PROMOTION DE LA SANTE ET AUTONOMISATION DANS LE CONTEXTE AFRICAIN written by David HouŽto and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-02-26 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Psychodynamic Treatment Research

Download or read book Psychodynamic Treatment Research written by Nancy E. Miller and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "As we enter a new era of scientific evaluation and acceptance of Freud's ideas, psychodynamic practitioners need to be aware of the most valid and clinically useful findings relevant to their everyday work with patients. This handbook meets that need by integrating the best contributions of the clinical psychoanalytic literature with the latest generation of clinical-quantitative research, and translating these findings into pragmatic clinical wisdom about what works and what doesn't." "In twenty-six chapters, forty-nine leading authorities and clinician-researchers discuss what is known about selecting patients, defining treatments, and measuring key processes and outcomes. The findings include which curative factors are effective; how the patient-therapist alliance can be a major predictor of treatment success; new transference, defense, insight, and internalization measures; prescriptions for improved case studies; pros and cons of the DSMs; and the role of psychotherapy manuals." "This comprehensive volume not only offers the clinician the latest in psychodynamic research and thinking but can guide those who wish to shape their clinical hypothesis into a study. By reviewing the central clinical concepts and techniques of psychodynamic psychotherapy and by providing the necessary empirical documentation to support their validity and clinical relevance, Psychodynamic Treatment Research makes an important contribution to mapping out the future of therapy."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. Book Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment

Download or read book Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment written by Alberto Pilotto and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-12-29 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers an up-to-date review on the principles and practice of multidimensional assessment and management of the older individual, which represents the cornerstone of modern clinical practice in the elderly. The early chapters cover the main elements and scope of the comprehensive geriatric approach and explain the pathways of care from screening and case finding through to in-depth assessment and treatment planning. Subsequent chapters review the evidence of how best to apply the multidimensional assessment and management approach in defined healthcare settings and within specific clinical areas, such as cancer and surgery. Finally, the education and training challenges are reviewed and the prospects for future clinical service and research in this important field are examined. The book is very timely given the recent advances in application of this approach, which reflect the growing international realization that older people are “core business” in many clinical areas where the role of specialist geriatric medicine has hitherto been limited. Accordingly, the book will be relevant to a wide range of clinicians. The authorship comprises many of the best known and widely published experts in their respective fields.

This comprehensive, definitive work is unique in that it is the only book devoted to sickle cell pain, as opposed to general aspects of the disease. The 752-page book links sickle cell pain to basic, clinical, and translational research, addressing various aspects of sickle pain from molecular biology to the psychosocial aspects of the disease. Supplemented with patient narratives, case studies, and visual art, Sickle Cell Pain’s scientific rigor extends through its discussion of analgesic pharmacology, including abuse-deterrent formulations. Book Corpus Linguistics and the Web

Download or read book Corpus Linguistics and the Web written by Marianne Hundt and published by Rodopi. This book was released on 2007 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using the Web as Corpus is one of the recent challenges for corpus linguistics. This volume presents a current state-of-the-arts discussion of the topic. The articles address practical problems such as suitable linguistic search tools for accessing the www, the question of register variation, or they probe into methods for culling data from the web. The book also offers a wide range of case studies, covering morphology, syntax, lexis, as well as synchronic and diachronic variation in English. These case studies make use of the two approaches to the www in corpus linguistics - web-as-corpus and web-for-corpus-building. The case studies demonstrate that web data can provide useful additional evidence for a broad range of research questions.
