Book ABIDE in JESUS and in HIS LOVE

Download or read book ABIDE in JESUS and in HIS LOVE written by Bob Benoit and published by . This book was released on 2020-03-27 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus said, "he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." In the letter of 1 John, we read, "he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him." What exactly do these Scriptures mean? How do we "abide" in Jesus? What is it like to abide "IN Him" and Him IN us? How do we "abide in love?" The first Scriptures we'll study are in John 15, because they are so insightful. Jesus makes is clear what He means by abide in Me and in My love. First, He wants us to love Him/God, and demonstrate our love by obeying His teachings. He wants us to know the Word, to know Him, He is the Word. And when we do, "My words abide in you." We believe the Word and do it. When we abide in Him and His Word, we get to KNOW God better. Jesus said when we abide in Him, and Him in us, we can pray and ask in His name, and it shall be granted. When we abide in His love, which is the fruit of the Spirit, we can truly love the brethren. And without Him we can do nothing. Now let's read the other 58 Scriptures!!! Scripture explains Scripture. So each lesson herein is a paragraph or two of scripture, in context, sorted by themes, where two or more of the words "abide, in Him and/or in love" (and their various synonyms) appear in the same paragraph; followed by four questions. Although each Scripture is in context, it's best if you also read what surrounds these verses. Also included is a short form of The Gospel Message. We cannot abide in Him, and in His love without knowing and responding to the gospel of Jesus Christ. A Small Group Facilitation Guide is also included herein to help home group and bible study leaders host interactive meetings. Appendix A near the back has some Sample Answers. The follow up to this study is, "I BELIEVE in JESUS." Jesus was sent by the Father to earth to give life and eternal life to all those who would believe in Him. We will explore what it means to truly "believe" in Jesus (past, present and until the end). Scripture explaining Scripture. For all you songwriters interested in worship song content, consider the songwriter version of this booklet, "ABIDE in JESUS and in HIS LOVE (Songwriters' Edition)." The scriptures are virtually the same ones used in this book, except that they are followed by different questions and helpful hints to inspire the writing of upwardly focused worship songs. ABIDE in JESUS and in HIS LOVE (Pastors edition) is available for pastors and teachers who create their own inspirational, comprehensive, theme-based, bible sermon series. The Scriptures are the same, but with different research suggestions for sermon preparation. The questions guide students and teacher to focus in on verb phrases (actions) that are in the Truth, use Scripture to explain Scripture, encourage everyone to KNOW God better and be doers of the Word. So that the Word of God will correct, reproof, train and equip believers to be disciples of Jesus Christ.

Instead of accepting God’s invitation to enter His throne room, many Christians stand alone outside the door, uncertain and ashamed. Christ beckons them to His banquet table and offers them a room in His house, but they fearfully or foolishly give up the glorious life He has offered. They come to Jesus as Redeemer but never go beyond the doorway to abide in Him and dwell with the King of Kings. Murray discovered what it means to abide continually in God’s presence and earnestly shares his heartfelt advice with readers. His prayer was that all of God’s children would receive the rich and blessed experience of abiding in Christ. Cross the threshold now and accept God’s invitation to live joyfully with Him.

Book The Allure of Gentleness

Download or read book The Allure of Gentleness written by Dallas Willard and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2015-02-10 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The revered Christian author whose bestselling classics include The Divine Conspiracy and The Spirit of the Disciplines provides a new model for how we can present the Christian faith to others. When Christians share their faith, they often appeal to reason, logic, and the truth of doctrine. But these tactics often are not effective. A better approach to spread Christ’s word, Dallas Willard suggests, is to use the example of our own lives. To demonstrate Jesus’s message, we must be transformed people living out a life reflective of Jesus himself, a life of love, humility, and gentleness. This beautiful model of life—this allure of gentleness—Willard argues, is the foundation for making the most compelling argument for Christianity, one that will convince others that there is something special about Christianity and the Jesus we follow.

Book Did Adam and Eve Really Exist

Download or read book Did Adam and Eve Really Exist written by C. John Collins and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2011-05-04 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "We need a real Adam and Eve if we are to make sense of the Bible and of life," argues C. John Collins. Examining the biblical storyline as the worldview story of the people of God, Collins shows how that story presupposes a real Adam and Eve and how the modern experience of life points to the same conclusion. Applying well-informed critical thinking to common theological and scientific questions, Collins asserts the importance of a real man at the beginning in God's plan for creation, a plan that includes "redemption" for all people since sin entered the world. Did Adam and Eve Really Exist? addresses both biblical and Jewish texts and contains extensive appendices to examine how the material in Genesis relates to similar material from Mesopotamian myths. Collins's detailed analysis of the relevant texts will instill confidence in readers that the traditional Christian story equips them better than any alternatives to engage the life that they actually encounter in the modern world.

Book excerpt: Where is Jesus when we need him most? An influential pastor shares how despair can lead us to discover true hope and a deeper relationship with God, helping us emerge stronger and more joyful from times of crisis. “May this careful look at pain in the context of Jesus’s life open up avenues of discovery and healing.”—Mindy Caliguire, cofounder and president of Soul Care We all experience difficulties and hardships. But how can we learn to live richly in the midst of them? And even grow spiritually because of them? The answer is found in the hopeful humanity of Jesus. As the Son of God, Jesus wasn’t exempt from suffering, disappointment, or injustice. He lived in the real world as a real person. He wept for those he loved. He felt hunger and thirst. He endured temptation, betrayal, and ridicule. He died after being unjustly tortured. And somehow through it all, he embodied hope—by defeating death and opening a new world of life for us. In Echoing Hope, influential pastor and blogger Kurt Willems reveals how understanding the humanity of Jesus can radically transform our identity and empower us to step into our pain-filled world in a new way. Combining rich theological insight with personal stories and practices for response, he shows how we can overcome despair and encounter the beautiful potential of our lives.
