Book A Fifteen somite Human Embryo

Download or read book A Fifteen somite Human Embryo written by Humio Mizoguti and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Histological observations of human embryos hitherto have been carried out using paraffin sections of 5 to 10 μm thickness, stained with the H-E method or simply with carmine. Because of the thickness, cells are arranged in 2 or 3 layers in one section and the histological details are not always clear. This book provides detailed morphological features of a very well preserved human embryo with fifteen somites. The sections are about 0.75 μm thick and stained with toluidine blue. The thinness of sections and clearness of staining reveal the histological details of this embryo very accurately. A complete set of high quality photomicrographs are presented for each of the selected sections. The high resolution of the photomicrographs will enable easy comparison with the literature. The clear presentation in this book of embryonic development is increasingly important and highly relevant for in-vitro fertilization, and thus of interest to reproductive biologists as well as anatomists.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Progress in developmental neurobiology and advances in (neuro) genetics have been spectacular. The high resolution of modern imaging techniques applicable to developmental disorders of the human brain and spinal cord have created a novel insight into the developmental history of the central nervous system (CNS). This book provides a comprehensive overview of the development of the human CNS in the context of its many developmental disorders. It provides a unique combination of data from human embryology, animal research and developmental neuropathology, and there are more than 400 figures in over a hundred separate illustrations.

Book New Insights on the Development of the Vascular System

Download or read book New Insights on the Development of the Vascular System written by Domenico Ribatti and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2022-06-02 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New Insights on the Development of the Vascular System examines the most recent literature and data on the development of the vascular system, along with advice on new laboratory techniques and approaches to data analysis. This volume is a comprehensive handbook to the state-of-the-art in vascular system development. Several genetic and epigenetic mechanisms are involved in the early development of the vascular system, and there is extensive literature on the genetic background and molecular mechanisms responsible for blood vessel formation. Yet new data and techniques have been developed in recent years. Although scientific literature covers the descriptive aspects of embryonic vascular system development, modern techniques such as the technology of cell fusion, cell sorting and image analysis give new insight into the mechanisms by which vessels form and regress and how blood flow changes directions in the same vessels. Gives a comprehensive overview of the most recent literature in the field of vascular system development Presents new data, including sections on endothelial cell signaling and technologies of cell fusion, cell sorting and image analysis Provides useful insights on the analysis of new experimental work Suggests modern techniques for scientists to use in the lab Gives an overview of vascular biology that will be useful for those needing rapid familiarity Provides an expert guide to the state-of-the-art in vascular system development as written by a leader in the field

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fetal medicine has emerged as a separate subspecialty over the last 30 years as a result of major advances in a number of areas, in particular ultrasound imaging, cytogenetics, molecular biology and biochemistry. The widespread use of antenatal screening and diagnostic tests has led to an increased need for obstetricians to have knowledge and skills in fetal medicine. This book provides the information that underpins training programmes in fetal medicine and integrates science and clinical disciplines in a practical and useful way. Clinical sections include: the latest advances in prenatal screening; a systems-based presentation of the diagnosis and management of fetal malformations; complete coverage of common and rare fetal conditions including growth restriction, endocrine and platelet disorders, early pregnancy loss, and twins/multiple pregnancy. More focus on important basic-science concepts, such as maternofetal cell trafficking, and the relevance to clinical management.
