Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This story is of a girl who was abandoned by her heartless mother, in a garbage bin shortly after her birth. This baby wasn't an ordinary child, because years later, she made great strides in changing the Colonial Indian Parliamentary system and hence, the baby was known to be the miracle girl "MIRA".She shook the Parliamentary system from ground up and introduced the "DEMOCRACY FRIENDLY PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM" where there would be no provision for the post of President & Governor in this new system and every prospective political contestant would require to clear an entrance exam after their graduation degree, named "Indian Political Service Examination" to become an M.P/M.L.A.Not a single person associated with a criminal record(s) would be able to hold any political office or be eligible to appear in this examination. There wouldn't be a provision of any political party. Every elected M.P/M.L.A. would be responsible for the development of the Country/States and for the upliftment of the Indian Citizens. She wanted to make a modern India wherein there would be a common law for all religions and all the court hearing procedures would be completed within three months from the date of the first court hearing. There would be only one house or one tier in the Parliament and the State Assembly. There wouldn't be any provision of Rajya Sabha or Vidhan Parishad. The retirement age of M.P/M.L.A and their political assignment would be 65 years. There would be a strict 'ONE CHILD POLICY' for every Indian and there wouldn't be any reservation policy in India in any category.

Book Phoenix Rising

Download or read book Phoenix Rising written by Mary Summer Rain and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mary Summer Rain's relationship with the old and wise Indian shaman No-Eyes, introduced in Spirit Song, continues, as she reveals to Mary her compelling visions of the future. From the setting in the simple mountain cabin, No-Eyes takes her on a sometimes frightening journey through time, viewing the upheavals to come through a unique perspective, on timeless paths that few have ever traveled. Second in a celebrated and best-selling series, which includes Spirit Song, Dreamwalker, Phantoms Afoot, Daybreak, Soul Sounds, Mountains, Meadows, and Moonbeams(Young Spirit), and Whispered Wisdom, Phoenix Rising gives the reader an understanding of the relationship between the Earth Mother and the creatures who inhabit her domain. It's a book that is already a classic for its philosophical insight and the powerful lyricism of the author's portrayal of the beautiful mountains of Colorado. And, as always, the unique relationship between teacher and student is delightfully rendered.

Book excerpt: This book explores the parallel and yet profoundly different ways of seeing the outside world and engaging with the foreign at two important moments of dislocation in Chinese history, namely, the early medieval period commonly known as the Northern and Southern Dynasties (317–589 CE), and the nineteenth century. Xiaofei Tian juxtaposes literary, historical, and religious materials from these two periods in comparative study, bringing them together in their unprecedentedly large-scale interactions, and their intense fascination, with foreign cultures. By examining various cultural forms of representation from the two periods, Tian attempts to sort out modes of seeing the world that inform these writings. These modes, Tian argues, were established in early medieval times and resurfaced, in permutations and metamorphoses, in nineteenth-century writings on encountering the Other. This book is for readers who are interested not only in early medieval or nineteenth-century China but also in issues of representation, travel, visualization, and modernity.

Book excerpt: "Each chapter of this book provides an essential portrait of Churchill at the height of his powers. In addition to vividly depicting his relationships with Stalin, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and other world leaders, Lukacs reflects on Churchill's ability to foresee the coming of World War II and the Cold War; he weighs Churchill's stature as a historian looking backward at the conflicts of which he was so much a part; and he examines the often contradictory ways Churchill has been perceived by critics and admirers alike. The last chapter is a powerful and deeply moving evocation of the three days Lukacs spent in London attending Churchill's funeral in 1965, and it offers a final assessment of Churchill's place in history through the prism of the varied individuals who came to honor him after his death. In Churchill: Visionary. Statesman. Historian., Luckacs sets forth the essence of this towering figure with consummate mastery."--BOOK JACKET.

Book excerpt: Ancient monuments all over the world - from the Pyramids of Giza, to Mexico, to the ancient sites of China - are also awakening, reacting to a brewing crisis not of this earth, connecting to each other in some kind of ancient global network. A small group of scientists is assembled to attempt to unravel the mystery. What they discover will change the world. Imagine that 12,000 years ago it really did rain for 40 days and 40 nights. That storms reigned supreme. Imagine that survivors of human civilization really were forced to take to boats or hide out in caves on mountaintops. Then consider that these same myths from around the world predict this kind of devastation will occur time and again. What could cause such a catastrophe? What occurs in nature with such frightening and predictable regularity? A pulsar. But this is not just any pulsar - the ordinary type that pulses once a second, a minute, or even a week. This pulses once every 12,000 years and sends out a gravity wave of such ferocity it beggars belief. Not only that, it's closer than anybody has ever imagined. For it lives in our own backyard. It is the Sun.
