Download or read book A Thousand Billion Things and Some Sheep written by Loic Clement and published by Words & Pictures. This book was released on 2017-09-21 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are so many more exciting things to do than go to bed each night! Every day presents us with a wide range of choices including what to have to breakfast, what to wear and what to do in our spare time. Even deciding which piece of homework to tackle first presents a challenge. But when night comes and it's time for bed, what choice is there but to lie in the dark ... and count sheep? This fantastically fun activity book takes us through all the choices in a typical child's busy day and presents the reader with a puzzle. On every scene there's something specific to find amongst the thousand billion (well, almost) things in the bright and busy artwork.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Programmed Sheep is an adult comedy built on my observation that humans all behave like sheep. Therefore, we are treated as such by government, politicians, employers, and the police, who all control our lives. We are being programmed to think like they want us to think, taking away our free will, freedom of speech, and even our own identity. I think most of the problems of the world are a direct result of interference in our lives by people using propaganda and lies to control the way we do think, which in turn makes us unhappy “lost sheep.” And if we oppose them, they seem to just ignore us anyway and continue with their own agenda, regardless of what the people really want. So rather than following the flock as a mindless sheep, I wanted to break free and make readers aware of the world as I see it. The book starts when I was going through mental anguish and everything started to get me down. I was feeling low, depressed, and unappreciated as a worker, so I started a self-therapy exercise, and began to write down my thoughts. The question you should ask yourself is simple: Do you control your mind or does somebody else control it for you? In Programmed Sheep, M.A. Fricker in his comedy approach brings to the surface what he sees is really going on in the world, and helps stop you from just following the flock. He is working on the sequel, Paranoid Sheep.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER "Provocative and appealing . . . well worth your extremely limited time." —Barbara Spindel, The Wall Street Journal The average human lifespan is absurdly, insultingly brief. Assuming you live to be eighty, you have just over four thousand weeks. Nobody needs telling there isn’t enough time. We’re obsessed with our lengthening to-do lists, our overfilled inboxes, work-life balance, and the ceaseless battle against distraction; and we’re deluged with advice on becoming more productive and efficient, and “life hacks” to optimize our days. But such techniques often end up making things worse. The sense of anxious hurry grows more intense, and still the most meaningful parts of life seem to lie just beyond the horizon. Still, we rarely make the connection between our daily struggles with time and the ultimate time management problem: the challenge of how best to use our four thousand weeks. Drawing on the insights of both ancient and contemporary philosophers, psychologists, and spiritual teachers, Oliver Burkeman delivers an entertaining, humorous, practical, and ultimately profound guide to time and time management. Rejecting the futile modern fixation on “getting everything done,” Four Thousand Weeks introduces readers to tools for constructing a meaningful life by embracing finitude, showing how many of the unhelpful ways we’ve come to think about time aren’t inescapable, unchanging truths, but choices we’ve made as individuals and as a society—and that we could do things differently.

Book excerpt: Dear Mr. Smarandache,You are a dangerous and contagious man: my luck is that you propagate this new AIDS (or new aid) only in absence, which seems very elegant. As well as very correct and clever. The paradox being an opposition to the common creed, You push the paradoxism towards the sense of readers¿ awareness, just for you remaining paradoxist. Therefore, you want to gain us in order to loose us; and after that? (Alexandru Ciorãnescu)NonNovel is indeed a novel of drawer, carried year after year in the bottomless sack of the exile. This fierce parabola about totalitarianism, about alienation, guilty obedience and lie, opportunism, cruelty, violence, monstrosity, written in a strong tensioned and lacking bashfulness style, situates Florentin Smarandache closer by Orwell, Konwicki, Koestler, Baconsky, and marks a new dimension of the Paradoxism.
