Book Design and Construction of a CW Dye Laser

Download or read book Design and Construction of a CW Dye Laser written by Karl-Heinz Friedrich Kelle and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The properties of organic dyes as well as the lasing process of organic dye lasers are investigated to form the basis for the design of a cw dye laser. Different dye laser systems are compared with regard to stability, utility, and construction characteristics. A folded three mirror resonator with an inserted dye cell at the Brewster angle is chosen and analyzed. The astigmatic effects introduced by the tilted mirror can be offset by those from the dye cell to yield a compensated cavity. The trade-offs and limitations given by the cell thickness, the angle of incidence, and the focal length of the center mirror are discussed. Finally, experimental data and procedures are given. (Author).

Book Dye Laser Principles

Download or read book Dye Laser Principles written by Frank J. Duarte and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A tutorial introduction to the field of dye lasers, Dye Laser Principles also serves as an up-to-date overview for those using dye lasers as research and industrial tools. A number of the issues discussed in this book are pertinent not only to dye lasers but also to lasers in general. Most of the chapters in the book contain problem sets that expand on the material covered in the chapter. - Dye lasers are among the most versatile and successful laser sources currently available in use Offering both pulsed and continuous-wave operation and tunable from the near ultraviolet to the near infrared, these lasers are used in such diverse areas as: industrial applications, medical applications, military applications, large-scale laser isotope separation, fundamental physics, spectroscopic techniques, laser radar

Book Electromagnetic Radiation Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics

Download or read book Electromagnetic Radiation Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics written by and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 1997-07-23 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Combined with Volumes 29A and 29B, this volume is a comprehensive treatment of the key experimental methods of atomic, molecular, and optical physics, as well as an excellent experimental handbook for the field. Thewide availability of tunable lasers in the past several years has revolutionized the field and lead to the introduction of many new experimental methods that are covered in these volumes. Traditional methods are also included to ensure that the volumes will be a complete reference source for the field.

Book Modern Aspects of Rare Earths and their Complexes

Download or read book Modern Aspects of Rare Earths and their Complexes written by Vinny R. Sastri and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2003-12-09 with total page 1005 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In order to use rare earths successfully in various applications, a good understanding of the chemistry of these elements is of paramount importance. Nearly three to four decades have passed since titles such as The Rare Earths edited by F.H. Spedding and A.H. Daane, The chemistry of the Rare Earth Elements by N.E. Topp and Complexes of the Rare Earths by S.P. Sinha were published. There have been many international conferences and symposia on rare earths, as well as the series of volumes entitled Handbook of Physics and Chemistry of Rare Earths edited by K.A. Gschneidner and L. Eyring. Thus, there is a need for a new title covering modern aspects of rare earth complexes along with the applications. The present title consists of twelve chapters. 1. Introduction2. General aspects3. Stability of complexes4. Lanthanide complexes5. Structural chemistry of lanthanide compounds6. Organometallic complexes7. Kinetics and mechanisms of rare earths complexation8. Spectroscopy of lanthanide complexes9. Photoelectron spectroscopy of rare earths10. Lanthanide NMR shift reagents11. Environmental ecological biological aspects12. Applications The authors studied in schools headed by pioneers in rare earth chemistry, have a combined experience of one hundred and fifty years in inorganic chemistry, rare earth complex chemistry, nuclear and radiochemistry of rare earths and supramolecular chemistry. The present monograph is a product of this rich experience.

Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by W. H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) * at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 24 (thesis year 1979) a total of 10,033 theses titles from 26 Canadian and 215 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. While Volume 24 reports these submitted in 1979, on occasion, certain universities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.
