This book was released on 2016 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Several recent studies have examined the Prenolepis genus-group, a diverse ant clade of which the oldest genus, Prenolepis, has never been revised. I conduct the first global revision of Prenolepis using a morphological approach. Fourteen species are recognized of which four are described as new. The new species are P. darlena, P. fustinoda, P. mediops, and P. shanialena. Three species are excluded from Prenolepis and transferred to Nylanderia and Paratrechina as new combinations: N. emmae, N. flaviabdominis, and P. umbra. Two species are excluded from Paratrechina and transferred to Nylanderia and Paraparatrechina as new combinations: N. guanyin and P. kongming. Prenolepis nigriflagella and P. melanogaster carinifrons are synonymized with P. melanogaster. Prenolepis longiventris and P. magnocula are synonymized with P. naoroji. Prenolepis imparis arizonica, P. imparis colimana, P. imparis coloradensis, and P. imparis veracruzensis are synonymized with Prenolepis imparis. Prenolepis jerdoni subopaca is elevated to species level.
