Book Systems Architecture Modeling with the Arcadia Method

Download or read book Systems Architecture Modeling with the Arcadia Method written by Pascal Roques and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-11-22 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Systems Architecture Modeling with the Arcadia Method is an illustrative guide for the understanding and implementation of model-based systems and architecture engineering with the Arcadia method, using Capella, a new open-source solution. More than just another systems modeling tool, Capella is a comprehensive and extensible Eclipse application that has been successfully deployed in a wide variety of industrial contexts. Based on a graphical modeling workbench, it provides systems architects with rich methodological guidance using the Arcadia method and modeling language. Intuitive model editing and advanced viewing capabilities improve modeling quality and productivity, and help engineers focus on the design of the system and its architecture. This book is the first to help readers discover the richness of the Capella solution. - Describes the tooled implementation of the Arcadia method - Highlights the toolset widely deployed on operational projects in all Thales domains worldwide (defense, aerospace, transportation, etc.) - Emphasizes the author's pedagogical experience on the methods and the tools gained through conducting more than 80 training sessions for a thousand engineers at Thales University - Examines the emergence of an ecosystem of organizations, including industries that would drive the Capella roadmap according to operational needs, service and technology suppliers who would develop their business around the solution, and academics who would pave the future of the engineering ecosystem

This book was released on 2022-05-15 with total page 635 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The modern economy, whose driving force is income, and not benefits to people, is inevitably monetary, rental, and exploitative. She does not cope with modern problems. In order for the economy to become a factory of useful things, it must abandon liberal principles, change the management philosophy, priorities and tools. The theory and features of building such an economy are presented in this book. It is original and has no world analogues.

Book Deconstructing Money Laundering Risk

Download or read book Deconstructing Money Laundering Risk written by Noémi També Bearpark and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-07-14 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the interpretation of the risk-based approach (RBA) and its application across the banking industry. It explores the ways conflicting risk interpretation and deconstruction of money laundering risk have unintended consequences across the banking industry. Furthermore, it offers a theoretical framework that can be adopted and implemented by risk practitioners to address money laundering (ML) risks. The interpretation and application of the RBA influences the way money laundering risk is perceived, presented, and managed, often resulting in misalignment among stakeholders. Moreover, AML practitioners interpret money laundering (ML) risk as an entity that can be contained, largely in ignorance of the fact that ML risk is self-referential. The book therefore addresses complex inter-system feedback phenomena that lead to de-risking and re-risking, and offers a new ML risk communication framework on this basis. It will be of value to researchers and also to stakeholders within financial institutions, financial intelligence units and regulators in the fight against money laundering.

Book Projecting Potential Output

Download or read book Projecting Potential Output written by Sebastian Hauptmeier and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-03-20 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In spite of the widespread use of the concept of potential output in economic theory and empirical applications as well as in economic policy debates, the historical background and the assumptions inherent to this concept are rarely made transparent, let alone critically questioned. Against this background this book sets out to determine the extent to which the concept of potential output rests on clearly defined theoretical foundations and how far prevailing empirical quantification methods really provide reliable insights into potential output growth of an economy. In addition, the authors examine alternative methods for a forward-looking assessment of potential output growth.

Book A System Theoretic Safety Engineering Approach for Software Intensive Systems

Download or read book A System Theoretic Safety Engineering Approach for Software Intensive Systems written by Asim Ali Ahmed Abdulkhaleq and published by Cuvillier Verlag. This book was released on 2017-02-23 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Software safety is a crucial aspect during the development of modern safety-critical systems. However, safety is a system level property, and therefore, must be considered at the system-level to ensure the whole system’s safety. In the software development process, formal verification and functional testing are complementary approaches which are used to verify the functional correctness of software; however, even perfectly reliable software could lead to an accident. The correctness of software cannot ensure the safe operation of safety-critical software systems. Therefore, developing safety-critical software requires a more systematic software and safety engineering process that enables the software and safety engineers to recognize the potential software risks. For this purpose, this dissertation introduces a comprehensive safety engineering approach based on STPA for Software-Intensive Systems, called STPA SwISs, which provides seamless STPA safety analysis and software safety verification activities to allow the software and safety engineers to work together during the software development for safety-critical systems and help them to recognize the associated software risks at the system level.
