Book Survive Your Drive A Survival Guide for Driving in the New Millenium

Download or read book Survive Your Drive A Survival Guide for Driving in the New Millenium written by Richard H. Freer and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2003-09 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Before the worlds were framed God had a plan for a family. God had all of the angels He had created and the whole of the universe. The angel's minister to Him they are subject to His command acting on His spoken word. The universe is subject to God to perform according to His instruction of its formation. This was not fulfilling to God, something was missing God desired a family of being that was like Him intelligence with a mind He could relate to. God wanted someone He could entrust all of His wonderful works to. God wanted a family He could shower with love, and affection of Himself. All scripture references in this book are from the King James Bible. This book will show God's heart for His family. The preparations He made for them before He created the first man in His image. Like a man and his wife prepare the nursery getting it in order before the birth of the baby they are expecting. You will see the actions God's took to save His man when his disobedience to His commandment, caused separation from Him, and His glory covering. There was numerous times God's family disappointed Him, and He almost destroy them completely. God redeemed His family through His son Jesus Christ, and after His sacrifice to save the family, God gave Him head ship over them, and they became His body. How the Trinity works together to help the family, now the body of Christ to maintain that salvation. You will get to know the role of the body of Christ, here in the earth realm. The main one is to come against the adversary Satan, who temped and caused the fall of man in the beginning, and is still intent on man's destruction.

Book How To Become a Truck Driver

Download or read book How To Become a Truck Driver written by HowExpert and published by HowExpert. This book was released on 2016-09-23 with total page 55 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let’s talk about the money, most truck drivers can expect to earn $30,000-$40,000 in their 1st year. I know some drivers who work as Solo drivers and decide to give up their apartments so they can stay in the truck all year long and save money. They still take days off from time to time, and stay with friends, family or rent a hotel for a few days so they can take a break. Once you have 6 months experience you may be able to find a job that pays more money. I’ve seen motivated drivers earning in the $60,000 range in their 1st year. The money is there to earn if you look for it. Too many drivers get complacent and they stay with the same company in the same position making low wages for years and years. Sometimes all you need to do to increase your income is switch positions within the company. If the company you work for doesn’t offer anything that will take you to the next level then find another company that will. I know a Walmart driver who earns $100,000 year and he’s home every night and weekend. Companies pay you in cents per mile (CPM) so the more mileage you drive the more you earn The bottom line is company drivers can make anywhere from $30,000 to around $100,000 per year. Stay away from company lease options, 99% of the time only the company does well with this type of position. They will make their lease program sound perfect, touting how you will be your own boss and make lots of money. Drivers often find themselves making just enough to cover the WEEKLY truck lease payment. If you want to truly be your own boss as a owner operator of your own truck then save up the money to buy a used truck cash or you may be able to find a 3rd party (not company sponsored) lease program. I have seen a couple of decent 3rd party lease programs, these will allow you to contract with any company you want. So if you’re not making enough money with one company then you can easily switch to another. Owner operators can make anywhere from $50,000 - $250,000 per year. About the Expert I have been driving a truck full time for over 4 years at the time of this publishing. I have been a company driver for 3 of those years and an owner/operator for a bit over one. In the 4+ years that I’ve been driving I have spent one year driving most of the lower 48 states. I haven’t made it up to North Carolina, and a few other states in the northeast but all of the others I have. For the last two years I have been truck driving with my team from Los Angeles to the Kansas City area and back. We did that twice a week. After doing that for about a year I was able to get a driving position working nights and being home every day. I did that for almost year. I left there because the company did a pathetic job of maintaining their equipment. I was afraid of getting stopped by law enforcement. So I left them and got my own truck to take care of. Now I am contracted with a carrier to move their freight and it works out a lot better. HowExpert publishes quick 'how to' guides on all topics from A to Z by everyday experts.

Book The Senior Driver s Survival Guide

Download or read book The Senior Driver s Survival Guide written by Norman Klein and published by Author House. This book was released on 2010-05-20 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Senior Drivers! Your future is in jeopardy. A disturbing situation is developing in the United States. Since people are living longer, the number of drivers over 65 is escalating three times as rapidly as the general driving population. Older people have difficulty concentration, shorter attention spans and failing vision among other ailments. Unfortunately this results in frequent driving mishaps, sometimes with catastrophic results. Taking away their driving privileges would deprive them of their self esteem and independence. This could happen if they continued to have accidents caused by their propensity to get distracted easily and lose concentration. Some states have already enacted laws requiring re-exams for seniors. No doubt many more will follow. Driving slower in traffic is not the answer. This could cause accidents. Driving too fast would be worse since a person’s attention span and reaction time deteriorate with age. It does not matter how skillful he or she once were, aging diminishes skill in almost all areas including the operation of a motor vehicle. Driving today has become more complex as many more cars are on the road. When seniors started to drive, turnpikes and expressways were non existent. After observing the avoidable accidents seniors were having, and realizing how their ranks were exploding, I decided to write “The Senior Driver’s Survival Guide” – subtitled What You Must Know to Protect Your Driving Privileges. Its contents can enable older drivers to drive with a more acute awareness and help them to be better drivers in their “Golden” years. It is an important book which has the power to change and save lives.

Download or read book NEW TO OTR written by Chris Aragon and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2014-03-14 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chris Aragon provides a direct, somewhat cynical, and slightly gruff look at the everyday tasks and responsibilities of being an Over The Road Truck Driver as an employee of a very large trucking company. Hollywood has always painted the public picture of what yesterday’s trucker looked like, but Chris’s hard toned look at the modern and highly regulated Commercial Drivers License paints a much different picture. With Road Safety at the center, Chris attempts to explain some of the complexity that is today’s Trucking Industry for the Non-Owner-Operator of the 18 Wheeler Culture. From the starting point of obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver’s License to the day to day dealings with company management to the suggestions for comfort while out on a national tour, Chris lays his no nonsense approach out in a raw sense without the hidden meanings tucked in the folds. In Chris’s previous full career as a Corrections Officer Sergeant in a maximum security setting, he developed a Funny Frowned Face as opposed to a poker face in communicating his thoughts. Chris often jokes about his Grumpy Personality with many of his friends and family and he hopes that the raw and pungent outlay doesn’t protrude itself as overly provocative to any reader.

Download or read book The Trucker s World written by Rothe, J. Peter (John Peter) and published by Transaction Publishers. This book was released on 1991-01-01 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book about truck driver's lives, risks, and views on safety. As "a "group, truckers represent a significant population of road users whose high-exposure driving creates a major challenge for safety. Research into the larger social, political, and economic forces that affect trucker's safety problems has been scarce. "The Trucker's World "comes to terms with the socioeconomic environment that contributes to breakdown in trucker safety and chronicles the lives and times of truckers as they try to make ends meet. It analyzes driver risk by exploring the reasons, reactions, and consequences of risk. The author approaches his task with a research question: Why is the average trucker continuously placed in conditions that, according to truckers, demand risky driving? As a result of direct experience with truckers and trucking, Rothe observes that truck drivers act as they do to gain autonomy over their work, freedom from control of others, and assurance of a reasonable livelihood. In order to maintain a sufficient income in the transportation market, even the most serious drivers perform tasks that often impinge on lethality and safety, not as blatant radicals or daredevils fighting the system, but as persons responding to the fear that they may lose their livelihood in trucking. The thrust in trucker safety has followed a victimization philosophy in which emphasis on interventions has been aimed directly at truckers. Rothe contends that safety programs would work better if they emphasized what influences, motivates, or encourages truckers to take chances on the road. With this in mind, he analyzes driver risk, vehicle maintenance, owner-operator, company driver, policing, home life, drugs and alcohol, government regulations, and hours of service as they are seen by truckers, industry officials, and others. Expanding our vision to encompass essential factors in the socioeconomic reality of the truck-driving culture. Rothe elucidates the far-reaching consequences that safety issues have for truckers, other road users, policymakers, and traffic safety educators.

Book excerpt: 'Skewed Views Too' continues Roy Schlemme's cartoon exploration of our human faults and foibles. Using everything from wry wit to out-and-out broad slapstick, he intelligently takes the reader on a rambling, merry journey. Beginning, at times, with the most bizarre of premises, Schlemme quickly cajoles even the most somber of us into forgetting our personal problems and laughing out loud at the adventures of his eccentric cast of zanies. Unlike other more traditional cartoonists who, generally, of necessity work small and simple, Schlemme utilizes the larger page along with a more detailed drawing style to enhance the final effect upon readers. There's no single theme from one vignette to the next, but rather a lively bouncing around certain to capture even the most humor-resistant of us. 'Skewed Views Too', with over 150 humorous situations, is sure to find itself one of the more appealing gift-giving ideas and entertaining book options around.
