Book excerpt: A Pure Tone Hearing Screening Training Videotape Program was developed by Emanuel and Alterman (2004) to teach hearing screening procedures for use with school-aged children. The hearing screening program consists of a recorded portion, examined via streaming video in this study, and associated training materials (written pre-/post-test, oral/practical examination, and outline handout/summary). A survey was created to elicit suggestions for modification of the training materials. The survey was completed by 10 audiologists as part of the pilot study and was then nationally distributed and completed by 58 participants. Respondents indicated all current content areas of the video should be kept; however, slight modifications are necessary in several areas. Additionally, the associated materials should be included but revisions are needed as well. Specific suggestions for revisions are discussed.
