Book Lasers on Solutions of Organic Dyes with Pulse Lamp Excitation

Download or read book Lasers on Solutions of Organic Dyes with Pulse Lamp Excitation written by A. N. Rubinov and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The laser action characteristics of several organic dye solutions are analyzed experimentally. The dye solution is placed in a quartz or molybdenum cell cylindric in shape, and pumped by two pulsed in-series IFP-1200 lamps 100 mm long and 3-5 mm in internal diameter. The light pulse has a duration of 60 sec. Because of the large stimulated emission coefficient laser generation of dyes requires a much smaller population of excited particles. The three most promising dyes studied were rhodamine C, rhodamine 6G, and pyronine G.A table is prepared for rhodamine 6G, listing the wavelength of the laser beam as a function of the active particle concentration. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High Speed Pulse Technology, Volume IV: Sparks and Laser Pulses covers the production and practical aspects of sparks and laser pulses for the generation and utilization of high speed pulsed of energy in different forms. This volume consists of seven chapters and begins with reviews of the classification of photographic methods of high-speed analysis, specifically the motion analysis of rapid events by white light pulses. The next chapters examine the sources of white pulse light and nanosecond radiation. The remaining chapters discuss the applications of the technology in photography, photolysis, laser pumping, and visualization of flows, cracks, and particles. This book will prove useful to physicists, electrical and other engineering fields, teachers, and students who are interested in sparks and laser pulses.

  • Publisher :
  • Release : 1973
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 54 pages

Download or read book Infrared Dye Laser Study written by EASTMAN KODAK CO ROCHESTER N Y KODAK APPARATUS DIV. and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Building on work done in Phase I of this study (See AD-748 863), research on near-infrared dye lasers continued along several lines. Eighteen more Kodak organic dyes were screened for laser action using a linear flash lamp for excitation. Six dyes lased between 840 nm and 960 nm. Four laser dyes were sythesized in 10 gram lots. These four dyes were tested for laser action in a variety of solvents, and outputs and lasing wavelengths were measured as a function of flash lamp loading, output mirror coupling, and dye concentration. Recommendations are made for further refinement of dye laser equipment leading to tests of a multi-flash infrared dye laser. (Author).

Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer. This book was released on 1979-11-01 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) * at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 23 (thesis year 1978) a total of 10,148 theses titles from 27 Canadian and 220 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. While Volume 23 reports these submitted in 1978, on occasion, certain universities do report theses submitted in previous years but not reported at the time.

Book excerpt: The introduction of innovative light sources, fibre laser sources and light emitting diodes, is opening unexpected perspectives into optical techniques and is promising new exciting applications in the field of biomedicine. Lasers and Current Optical Techniques in Biology aims to provide an overview of light sources, together with an extensive and authoritative description of the optical techniques in bio-medicine. This book is designed to give biomedical researchers a strong feel for the capability of physical approaches, promote new interdisciplinary interests and persuade more practitioners to take advantage of optical techniques. Current developments in a variety of optical techniques, including Near-Infra Red Spectroscopy, and traditional and advanced fluorescence techniques are covered, ranging from those that are becoming common practice to those that need much more experimentation before they can be accepted as real breakthroughs. Further topics include optical coherence tomography and its variations, polarised light imaging and, principle laser and lamp sources- a usually fragmentary topic, often dispersed among specialist publications. The wide range of topics covered make Lasers and Current Optical Techniques in Biology of interest to a diverse range of scientific communities.

Book Organic Dye Doped PMMA Thin Film Laser

Download or read book Organic Dye Doped PMMA Thin Film Laser written by Pen Yiao Ang and published by Cuvillier Verlag. This book was released on 2021-10-26 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organic dye laser stands a chance to become the next generation of the light source. It is very interesting because organic dyes can cover a wide range of the pectrum of visible light. To realise organic solid-state laser, several organic dyes can be doped in a polymer matrix. One of the examples of low-priced polymer is poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). However, the study of PMMA as a polymer matrix for organic dyes as a thin-film laser was not extensive. This thesis focused on the feasibility of organic dye-doped PMMA as a thin-film laser.
