Book Frequency Modulation Theory

Download or read book Frequency Modulation Theory written by Jacques Fagot and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-07-03 with total page 525 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electronics and Instrumentation, Volume 11: Frequency Modulation Theory: Application to Microwave Links provides information pertinent to the fundamental aspects of microwave beam techniques. This book discusses the development in the application of frequency modulation. Organized into five chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the transfer of the radio-frequency energy over a given path. This text then examines all the general problems of frequency modulation, including principle, band covered, distortion, and improvement of the signal-to-noise ratio. Other chapters deal with propagation distortion that is apparent in a variable-velocity guided transmission channel. This book discusses as well the complete problem of telephony and television transmission over radio links and considers the requisite conditions for meeting the international standards. The final chapter deals with all the applied techniques concerned with radio link equipment that deals with a large number of general problems. This book is a valuable resource for students and engineers.

Book The Propagation of Radio Waves

Download or read book The Propagation of Radio Waves written by K. G. Budden and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1988-08-04 with total page 694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is concerned with the ionosphere and the magnetosphere, and the theory of their effect on radio waves. It includes accounts of some mathematical topics now widely used in this study, particularly W. K. B. approximations, Airy integral functions and integration by steepest descents. The subject is divided into ray theory and full wave theory. Ray theory is useful for high frequencies when the ionosphere is treated as a horizonally stratified medium. The discussion of the magnetosphere, whose structure is more complicated, includes an account of whistlers and ion cyclotron whistlers. The book has been planned both for final year undergraduates and as a reference book for research. It is suitable as a course book on radio propagation for students of physics or electrical engineering or mathematics. Some of the topics are presented from an elementary viewpoint so as to help undergraduates new to the subject. The later parts are more advanced. Because the subject is so large and has seen many important recent advances, some topics have had to be treated briefly, but there is a full bibliography with about 600 references.

Book Propagation of Radio Waves at Frequencies below 300 Kc s

Download or read book Propagation of Radio Waves at Frequencies below 300 Kc s written by W. T. Blackband and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-06-28 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Propagation of Radio Waves at Frequencies Below 300 KC/S covers the proceedings of the Seventh Meeting at the AGARD Ionospheric Research Committee, held in Munich, Germany on September 17-21, 1962. This book is organized into eight parts encompassing 32 chapters. The first parts deal with research studies concerning the electron density distribution and some properties of the lower ionosphere, as well as the effect of D-layer irregularities on radio wave propagation. The next parts explore the low frequency propagation in the lower ionosphere, the measurement of oblique incidence, and the statistical frequency spectrum of radio noise below 300 kc/s. The remaining chapters discuss the diurnal changes, the statistical prediction, the mode theory, and the propagation of very and extremely low frequency radio waves in the ionosphere. These chapters also examine the Earth resonance. This book will prove useful to astronomers, astrophysicists, and space scientists.

Book Mathematics of the Discrete Fourier Transform DFT

Download or read book Mathematics of the Discrete Fourier Transform DFT written by Julius O. Smith and published by Julius Smith. This book was released on 2008 with total page 323 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The DFT can be understood as a numerical approximation to the Fourier transform. However, the DFT has its own exact Fourier theory, and that is the focus of this book. The DFT is normally encountered as the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)--a high-speed algorithm for computing the DFT. The FFT is used extensively in a wide range of digital signal processing applications, including spectrum analysis, high-speed convolution (linear filtering), filter banks, signal detection and estimation, system identification, audio compression (such as MPEG-II AAC), spectral modeling sound synthesis, and many others. In this book, certain topics in digital audio signal processing are introduced as example applications of the DFT"--Back cover
