Book A Student s Overview of the Ageless Wisdom Book of Study Quizzes

Download or read book A Student s Overview of the Ageless Wisdom Book of Study Quizzes written by Alice A. Bailey and published by . This book was released on 2020-12-21 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: INTRODUCTION BY THE EDITOR: This Book of Study Quizzes was designed to serve as a companion to the compilation, A Student's Overview of the Ageless Wisdom, by allowing students to approach the teachings from a highly concrete, yet also intuitional, perspective. There are 800 questions, for example, which each have one specific, concrete answer; yet students may approach the questions either through lower mind via study and memorization, by the intuition, or by a combination of the two. The seemingly mundane act of working through the questions on the quizzes will assist with the awakening, development and integration of the higher senses within the student. The goal of compiling some of the most essential teachings of the Ageless Wisdom into an Overview is focused upon: a) Providing a form that assists with the acquisition of the information: This involves abridging the original books into forms that are more conducive to practical study. b) Providing a form for the assimilation of the knowledge: This involves the study, review and personal practice of that knowledge which is acquired. c) Providing a form for the radiation of the wisdom: This involves the utilization and sharing of the light of wisdom, and includes activities such as creation, mentoring and teaching. This Quiz Booklet is separated into two sections: 1) Section One: 7 Quizzes based on the Overview of the Ageless Wisdom 2) Section Two: 2 Quizzes based on Tapestries of the GodsSection One contains seven quizzes based upon the six books covered in the Overview. Students may choose to take them open-book, meaning that they allow themselves to look up the correct answers as they progress through each quiz, or they can rely completely upon memory and intuition. Their results should guide them to their weaker areas which may require more study. Section Two references the first volume of Tapestries of the Gods by Michael D. Robbins, Ph.D. and includes an objective quiz on Identification of the Seven Rays and one subjective quiz aimed at the Self-Identification of one's Personal Rays. Students are encouraged to self-identify the Rays of their Soul and Personality, as well as the Rays of their Mental, Astral and Physical-Etheric bodies. Students may record their answers on the included Answer Sheets but are encouraged to make copies of them first, download a PDF copy or make their own. Links to PDFs and self-grading quizzes are available at www.LoveAndLightGames.com I believe that much of the Ageless Wisdom is now being acquired and assimilated into the human collective-consciousness, and will be put to ever-greater and more intelligent use as the Aquarian age gains momentum, so that the sacred knowledge of the Ageless Wisdom will eventually become common-knowledge throughout an enlightened and unified humanity. Through the intelligent application of love, may we learn to know ourselves and our brothers, and let stand revealed those long-hidden Teachers to Whom we have ever been known. Book Reflections on an Ageless Wisdom

Download or read book Reflections on an Ageless Wisdom written by Joy Mills and published by Quest Books. This book was released on 2014-07-01 with total page 610 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern Theosophy expresses the ancient wisdom tradition found in all religions. When H. P. Blavatsky, founder of the Theosophical Society in 1875, told English journalist A. P. Sinnett she had gained her paranormal knowledge from more evolved beings called the Mahatmas, Sinnett asked to communicate with them himself. The result was a remarkable correspondence carried on from 1880 to 1885 with Mahatmas Khoot Hoomi and Morya. Recorded in The Mahatma Letters to A. P. Sinnett, the answers of these Teachers form an essential part of Theosophical literature. At the time, the Letters stormed the bastions of racial and religious prejudice, and they continue to fascinate those seeking to probe the mysteries of the universe and the nature of consciousness. Here is the most comprehensive, magisterial discussion of The Mahatma Letters since they were first published in 1924. Eminent Theosophist Joy Mills bases her commentary on Vincente Hao Chin’s 1999 edition of the Letters, helpfully arranged chronologically to enable following the exposition as it originally unfolded. Mills quotes Sinnett in emphasizing that the Mahatmas’ purpose was not to put the world into possession of occult knowledge but to train those who proved qualified . . . so that they might ascend the path of spiritual progress. Her focus, then, is on not only knowledge of the magnificent Occult Science but more significantly the ethical and moral values we must embrace to be of service to the world. She offers her reflections on over 140 letters in the hope that they may prove useful to fellow-students on the journey toward the spiritual heights. May these letters call you as they have continued to call me to keep on exploring, for truly there is no other way to go!

Download or read book Classical Chinese Medicine written by Liu Lihong and published by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press. This book was released on 2019-04-19 with total page 696 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The English edition of Liu Lihong’s milestone work is a sublime beacon for the profession of Chinese medicine in the 21st century. Classical Chinese Medicine delivers a straightforward critique of the politically motivated “integration” of traditional Chinese wisdom with Western science during the last sixty years, and represents an ardent appeal for the recognition of Chinese medicine as a science in its own right. Professor Liu’s candid presentation has made this book a bestseller in China, treasured not only by medical students and doctors, but by vast numbers of non-professionals who long for a state of health and well-being that is founded in a deeper sense of cultural identity. Oriental medicine education has made great strides in the West since the 1970s, but clear guidelines regarding the “traditional” nature of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) remain undefined. Classical Chinese Medicine not only delineates the educational and clinical problems faced by the profession in both East and West, but transmits concrete and inspiring guidance on how to effectively engage with ancient texts and designs in the postmodern age. Using the example of the Shanghanlun (Treatise on Cold Damage), one of the most important Chinese medicine classics, Liu Lihong develops a compelling roadmap for holistic medical thinking that links the human body to nature and the universe at large.

Book The Religious Studies Skills Book

Download or read book The Religious Studies Skills Book written by Eugene V. Gallagher and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-12-13 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Studying religion in college or university? This book shows you how to perform well on your course tests and examinations, write successful papers, and participate meaningfully in class discussions. You'll learn new skills and also enhance existing ones, which you can put into practice with in-text exercises and assignments. Written by two award-winning instructors, this book identifies the close reading of texts, material culture, and religious actions as the fundamental skill for the study of religion at undergraduate level. It shows how critical analytical thinking about religious actions and ideas is founded on careful, patient, yet creative “reading” of religious stories, rituals, objects, and spaces. The book leads you through the description, analysis, and interpretation of examples from multiple historical periods, cultures, and religious traditions, including primary source material such as Matthew 6:9-13 (the Lord's Prayer), the gohonzon scroll of the Japanese new religion Soka Gakkai, and the pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj). It provides you with typical assignments you will encounter in your studies, showing you how you might approach tasks such as reflective, interpretive or summary essays. Further resources, found on the book's website, include bibliographies, and links to useful podcasts.
