Book Black Waters of Melancholy

Download or read book Black Waters of Melancholy written by J.L. Parsons and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-10-08 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within these pages rest the sordid thoughts of an old soul who finds peace in the darkest corners of the world. You will find few uplifting words in this book and little to inspire, soothe or even help you cope. What you will find within these pages are poems that express the darkness many fear yet others embrace. Some require you to take time to examine this bizarre existence we call life, to gain a glimpse into the mind of those who make these shadows their home. Some paint a vivid picture with words that capture the beauty amid the macabre. Some express a dark sense of humor that causes the little clown in my mind to display his sinister grin. In short this book is for the dark, demented and those just a bit twisted. So find yourself a dimly lit corner, curl up with some hot tea and pastries and enjoy spending time with me in my darkness. Book A Light in Dark Places

Download or read book A Light in Dark Places written by Daniel Sykes and published by . This book was released on 2017-09-25 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Investigating our own troubles is a necessity, and we must all endeavor to understand whatever may assist and whatever we must address to become successful at our own problem-solving issues. The poetry of life revolves around and inside us all in the depth of our imaginations. We all have a personal attachment to the things that create our own poetry within the motions we go through within and outside our own personal space. I considered my own poetry with the idea that was given to me and with what would become my problem before it came up, so I was aware and ready and it was relayed in this fashion as I was always able to convey what can make life easier for others and what can become great advice, just for the reasons that knowing someone else goes through things we find hard to understand makes them easier and brings them down to the level we can all see above to be able to build the bridge we need to get over such things that drag us down and make feeling good enough to try new things a chore, which must be conquered before we can go any further. Just before completing over two thousand poems, I included the stories that I had relayed everywhere it would help and which had to be included to show you how I dug things up in my mind and relayed the stories poetically while I, one by one, came up with all the reasons and answers as we all must and carried on with my own life at the same time through bringing things down the earth each day, well enough to sleep. The poems were the best way to draw the memories from long ago in front of me within the perfect day-by-day timing needed to get through.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you going through mental health issues? Or is someone close to you dealing with mental illnesses? Or maybe you are just interested in this subject and want to understand a bit more about it? If you answered YES to any of the above, this book containing a collection of poems about mental health will be a must-read for you. You can trust me. I've been struggling with mental illnesses for a bit over 15 years. I've gone through all the slight ups and the downs and the very low downs. Dealing with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, traumatic experiences and depression has been very difficult and extremely painful. I came to the point of feeling terribly lonely and deeply sad because I felt like no one around me understood how I was feeling or the urgency of it all. This only made my condition much worse... In the middle of all the darkness, I started writing these poems that expressed what I was thinking or feeling in a very honest and raw way at times. To be honest, I'm still in the middle of it all, of that huge and powerful and tremendously painful storm that makes you feel like you're going to die at any minute out of sheer panic, pain and/or exhaustion. At the beginning, I really wanted those poems to remain hidden out of shame, embarrassment and fear. But through therapy, I realized that mental illnesses are nothing to be ashamed of. They are as valid as any physical illness. Another person helped me see how these poems could help others going through mental health issues. So I decided to publish this book for you, to try to help you feel seen, understood and validated. I also hope that it contributes to normalizing and destigmatizing mental illnesses. This book is for YOU: you, the one who feels an extreme amount of emotional pain you, the one with a difficult and traumatic life story that just keeps haunting you and making you suffer the one who feels so awful, like it's all too much and you just can't do life anymore the one who feels like no one around you understands what you're going through the one who feels like everything is a burden, a mountain to climb, even something as basic as chewing your food the one who struggles to take showers, to brush your teeth, to get out of your pajamas, to eat and drink water the one who can't manage to get much or any work at all done the one who has intrusive thoughts or images that make you feel like you're going crazy, that increase your anxiety levels to the max and make you want to run away screaming and hitting your head the one with frequent anxiety attacks that make you feel like you're effectively going to die and/or go crazy the one who gets anxious about feeling anxious the one who's scared of looking back at the past years because of how bad you've felt the one who's scared of going crazy or losing control the one who is constantly one inch away from crying the one who feels trapped, like there's no way out, like you're drowning, suffocating and slowly but steadily withering, being erased from the face of the earth Get a glimpse of what it feels like and HELP SAVE LIVES.

Book excerpt: In his tenth collection of poetry, Franz Wright gives us an exquisite book of reconciliation with the past and acceptance of what may come in the future. From his earliest years, he writes in “Will,” he had “the gift of impermanence / so I would be ready, / accompanied / by a rage to prove them wrong / . . . and that I too was worthy of love.” This rage comes coupled with the poet’s own brand of love, what he calls “one / strange alone / heart’s wish / to help all / hearts.” Poetry is indeed Wright’s help, and he delivers it to us with a wry sense of the daily in America: in his wonderfully local relationship to God (whom he encounters along with a catfish in the emerald shallows of Walden Pond); in the little West Virginia motel of the title poem, on the banks of the great Ohio River, where “Tammy Wynette’s on the marquee” and he is visited by the figure of Walt Whitman, “examining the tear on a dead face.” Here, in Wheeling Motel, Wright’s poetry continues to surprise us with its frank appraisal of our soul, and with his own combustible loneliness and unstoppable joy.
