Book TWENTY FIRST CENTURY S FUEL SUFFICIENCY ROADMAP

Download or read book TWENTY FIRST CENTURY S FUEL SUFFICIENCY ROADMAP written by STEVE ESOMBA, Dr. and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-06-06 with total page 661 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We badly need new sources of clean energy to generate electricity, heat and power our industries, homes and workplaces. Up to now, we have relied on and used only fossil fuels to power our industrial and domestic activities. The byproducts of fossil fuels include: irreversible pollution and contamination of our Earth, climate change, global warming, and increase in pathogenic and medication-resistant diseases. Exhaustible fossil fuels are expensive to produce and distribute, and not everybody can afford them. Why not switch to natural, non-polluting, inexpensive, inexhaustible fuels such as solar, wind, water, etc., fuels? This is the timely message contained in TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY'S FUEL SUFFICIENCY ROADMAP. You can make this message realisable. Go on reading! Thanks.

Book 100 Per Cent Renewable

Download or read book 100 Per Cent Renewable written by Peter Droege and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2009-12-01 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The greatest challenge of our time is to build a world based on the sustainable use of renewable power. Our massive dependence on fossil fuels has upset the very climatic system that made human evolution possible. The global economy and its financial system are in jeopardy, running hot on overtly cheap yet increasingly costly and fast depleting oil. A 100% renewable world is seen by many as an impossible dream in anything but the very long term. But not only do a growing number of initiatives and plans dare to make the change but many have already achieved it. This rich collection presents a series of pioneering efforts and their champions, and the paths to their successes. Ranging from initiatives by individuals to visions for companies, communities and entire countries, it defeats tired economic and technical counter-arguments, showing how the schemes featured not only can and do work but do so economically and with available technology. The book is introduced by incisive writing by Peter Droege, explaining the challenges and framing a roadmap towards a 100% renewable reality.

Book excerpt: What is Subsidy A subsidy, sometimes known as a government incentive, is a form of government spending that is intended to stabilize the economy by providing financial assistance to individuals, households, and enterprises by providing financial assistance. While it provides businesses with the potential to remain profitable and/or competitive, it also ensures that individuals and families are able to maintain their viability by ensuring that they have access to basic commodities and services. Aside from the fact that they help governments respond to economic shocks during a recession or in response to unforeseen shocks, such as the COVID-19 epidemic, subsidies not only help to foster long-term economic stability but also help governments respond to economic shocks. How you will benefit (I) Insights, and validations about the following topics: Chapter 1: Subsidy Chapter 2: Emissions trading Chapter 3: Carbon tax Chapter 4: Agricultural subsidy Chapter 5: Environmental tax Chapter 6: Economic interventionism Chapter 7: Eco-capitalism Chapter 8: Energy policy Chapter 9: Energy policy of Australia Chapter 10: Renewable energy commercialization Chapter 11: Carbon price Chapter 12: Environmental pricing reform Chapter 13: Food vs. fuel Chapter 14: Energy subsidy Chapter 15: Environmental effects of transport in Australia Chapter 16: Economics of climate change mitigation Chapter 17: Carbon fee and dividend Chapter 18: Cap and dividend Chapter 19: Subsistence agriculture Chapter 20: Energy subsidies in the United States Chapter 21: Fossil fuel subsidies (II) Answering the public top questions about subsidy. Book Transport Fuels from Australia s Gas Resources

Download or read book Transport Fuels from Australia s Gas Resources written by Robert Clark and published by UNSW Press. This book was released on 2014-12-01 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The transport sector in Australia depends heavily on imported oil-based fuels. With this comes the ever-present risk of oil supply shortages. But Australia is gas-rich and oil-poor, so it makes practical sense to assess how our own gas resources can be used to produce these fuels. Natural gas can be used directly as a fuel, blended with diesel in modified diesel engines, and converted into a conventional liquid fuel--all at a modest cost. This book, written by Australia's leading experts in the field, demonstrates how using natural gas as a transport fuel could increase fuel self-sufficiency to 50-70 percent by 2030. And with three-quarters of all freight being moved by road, it's clear that these developments will have major benefits for Australian transport efficiency.

Book Alternative Fuels and Their Application to Combustion Engines

Download or read book Alternative Fuels and Their Application to Combustion Engines written by S M Ashrafur Rahman and published by Mdpi AG. This book was released on 2021-09-23 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world is observing the disastrous consequences of climate change. The recent bushfires in Australia in 2019-2020 have burned 16.8 million hectares of land and killed 1 billion animals (estimated). Although diesel vehicles are widely used all over the world due their innate high power output, adaptability, and affordability; the transport sector is a significant contributor to carbon dioxide, which is immensely accountable for global warming. The production of cleaner alternatives to diesel fuel will help to build a sustainable environment for future generations. The Special Issue contains papers from experts around the world addressing the mentioned issues and suggesting pathways to improve.

Book Advanced Alternative Fuels

Download or read book Advanced Alternative Fuels written by and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the second iteration of the Technology Development Report for Advanced Alternative Fuels. As will be seen from this report, the fuel production pathways studied tend to be 'ground-breaking' or relatively new, with much work being carried out at laboratory scale. While that means projects tend to be at low-TRL, it is possible they could become applicable at higher TRL levels. When seeking to define what constitutes an advanced alternative fuel (AAF), a number of important sources have been referred to. Principally, the SET-Plan Integrated Roadmap description has been used as the main guide to define the fuel types considered. The roadmap states such fuels represent new technological concepts for the introduction of non-biomass and non-fossil based alternative fuels in transport. This includes: - CO2-based and CO2-neutral liquid and gaseous fuels such as methanol, ethanol, green gas or other fuel molecules using renewable energy, and - Artificial photosynthesis and fuel from photosynthetic microorganisms (in water and land environments) and from artificial photosynthesis mimics (SET-Plan Integrated Roadmap, 2014).
