This book was released on 2017-09-17 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Commercial Precedents Selected From the Column of Replies and Decisions of the New York Journal of Commerce: An Essential Work of Reference for Every Business Man Journal of Commerce, are taken for a number of years sufficient to embrace the many heads or subject-matter as appear in the table of contents. They contain the usage, principles, and authorities, and are free from technical language save where technical terms are absolutely necessary, and so as to be understood by every one. This book will by no means rank among commercial law books, for it does not con. Tain the principle or the theoretical basis of such a work, and it is far from its province. It is the actual, applied and every-day usage oi commerce which makes this an essential work of reference for every man in business, and applicable to all the states throughout the union, for it is the common law, and wheresoever the statutes of a particular state govern the question, the name of the state is given in the body of the book, as well as in the index. Where the matter should appear under more than one head in the index, it is cross-indexed, so as to insure its being readily found as well as to avoid repetition in the body of the book. The arrangement of the subject-matter, including the classification of topics and a complete index of every question, will be found to be highly practical in its simplicity. From the encouragement given by bankers, exporters and import ers, manufacturers, and lawyers, to this undertaking, it is to be hoped that this compilation may be of great and general use to the business and professional men throughout the United States. Book Technical Procedure in Exporting and Importing Classic Reprint

Download or read book Technical Procedure in Exporting and Importing Classic Reprint written by Morris Sigmund Rosenthal and published by . This book was released on 2015-07-01 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Technical Procedure in Exporting and Importing A study of manufacturing and agricultural conditions in the different countries of the world shows clearly the economic inter-dependence of nations. No one country produces within its borders all of the necessities and near-necessities essential to the welfare and happiness of its people. Each nation contributes to the vast number of raw materials and finished products consumed throughout the world, and each receives from neighbors products of the soil and of the factory which are foreign to its home industries. The United States, wealthy as it is and diversified as are its resources, also finds itself dependent on other nations for many commodities used in every day life. Coffee comes from Brazil, rubber comes from the Straits Settlements and Java, tea from China and Ceylon, hemp from Mexico and the Far East. These are only a few of the products, not indigenous to the United States, which are imported in large quantities. On the other hand, the steel products, textiles, naval stores, grain products and many other products of the United States are shipped to the four quarters of the Globe. In many instances, an article is grown or manufactured in more than one country. Competition then arises in foreign trade as it does in domestic business. Exporters must develop their foreign trade with the same care that the domestic manufacturer conducts his sales campaigns and plans to out-strip his competitors. Indeed, competition in foreign trade is in some ways even more keen than in domestic business. Although the United States has always been prominent and active in international trade, the economic chaos resulting from the World War places added responsibilities on the American manufacturer and exporter. The United States is virtually the only nation whose resources were unimpaired by the War. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. This book was released on 2018-02-16 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Exporter's Handbook and Glossary The greatest war the world has ever known, through which we are passing as this volume is preparing for the press, has taught us in England many things and many lessons. Not the least of these has been the complete awakening to our commercial imperfections, the knowledge of our utter lack of scientific organisation in prosecuting our huge export trade in overseas markets, and the complacency with which we have allowed much of it where we were formerly supreme to fall to the share of competing coun tries whose systems and methods have unquestionably been far in advance of our own. 70 have been wofully indifferent, haphazard and slipshod, and in the main have been content with the enormous volume of trade we transacted with comparative ease in Colonial and foreign markets because the known prestige of British-made goods throughout the world has always found ready perhaps too ready - customers for them.
