Man kannte geneigt sein, diese Tatsache zu bedauern, wenn nicht gleichzeitig mit der AuflOsung der DGU etwas geschehen ware, was viele deutscheJ Unternehmensforscher seit geraumer Zeit gewtinscht hatten: Die DGU schloss sich mit der Gesellschaft fUr Operations Research (huher AKOR) zu einer einheitlichen deutschen Gesellschaft, der Deutschen Gesell­ schaft fUr Operations Research (DGOR) zusammen. So ist das Ende der DGU gleichzeitig der Beginn der DGOR, einer Gesellschaft, der man nur wiinschen kann, dass sie in Fortsetzung der Arbeit der Deutschen Gesellschaft fUr Un­ ternehmensforschung und der Gesellschaft fur Operations Research der Fort­ schritt auf dem Gebiete des Operations Research fOrdern mage. Die zehn Jahre des Bestehens der DGU bezeichnen in Deutschland die Ent­ wicklungsphase des Operations Research oder der Unternehmensforschung, wie sie weitgehend in Deutschlandgenannt wurde, von den absolutenAnfangen bis zu dem Stadium in dem in weiten Kreisen der Wirtschaft und der Lehre die Niitzlichkeit der Anwendung dieser Methoden nicht mehr bezweifelt wird. Dies kommt auch im Programm dieser JubiUiumstagung zum Ausdruck: Zum einen waren die Themenkreise noch nie soweit gespannt wie in diesem Jahr. Sie reichen von praktischen Anwendungen auf den verschiedensten Ge­ bieten einschliesslich der Politik, des Umweltschutzes und der Familien­ planung auf der einen Seite bis zu bedeutenden theoretischen Ergebnissen, von denen noch nicht vorauszusehen ist, auf welchen Wissensgebieten sie einmal angewandt werden.
