Book A Pastor s Ponderings of Devotionals

Download or read book A Pastor s Ponderings of Devotionals written by Brock L. Davis and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2019-12-26 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have placed my "pastor's ponderings" in this book as a result of the encouragement of friends and acquaintances. The premise and hope of this devotional book are that it will facilitate a deeper spiritual walk for all who read it. Each devotional was developed by relating everyday objects or activities to our spiritual lives, with the intent of keeping them simple enough so that even a child could understand them. Each devotional encourages the reader to be a better Christian, to attend church more regularly, to study the Bible more, or to grab hold of some other spiritual insight or discipline. It is my desire that this book will be used by the Holy Spirit to enlighten the readers of their spiritual weaknesses in order to be brought closer to God. If this happens, I will consider it a success. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift. Ephesians 2:8

"I have tried to give some insight into what the Proverbs are telling us and have tried to give some practical thoughts about their teachings," writes Hinkle. "It has been a work that has given me a better understanding of the book of Proverbs, and I hope it will help others as they seek to know more about the wisdom God offers to each of us. "The grace of our Lord sustains us each day, and His wisdom guides us. I believe this study will help others learn to walk in God's wisdom and be a blessing to others. I hope others can be helped by what I have written, and that God will be honored." In this second of two volumes, Hinkle offers a comprehensive study of chapters 1-16 of Proverbs using the HEAR method (highlight, explain, apply and respond) popularized by Robby and Kandi Gallaty. Tom Hinkle has served as pastor of St. John's Bethel Baptist Church in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, since 2015, and previously served churches in Kentucky for thirty years.

Download or read book A Pastor s Devotion written by Francis Mason and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-07-06 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These devotions were written by a Pastor to his congregation during the time of pandemic restrictions when sanctuary doors were closed to any desiring to worship or pray or just needing a spiritual boost.Aiming for encouragement, these short devotions are an uplifting and interesting source of inspiration. They certainly lived up to their intended purpose of creating a bridge between the pulpit and pew during a long and hurtful silence from the traditionally comfortable environment of the sanctuary. Their content is chock full of true-to-life illustrations. You'll find many of them written directly for your need.A variety of styles are used to convey Christian principles and truths in a very upbeat format--sometimes humorous, sometimes serious; intellectual without being stodgy; often country colloquial in portraying real-life stories; always focusing on revealing more of the Christ of Calvary.Got about five minutes? Read one of these devotions. But look out! You might find yourself hooked into reading more than one or two...or more!
