Book Nutrition and Integrative Medicine

Download or read book Nutrition and Integrative Medicine written by Aruna Bakhru and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-08-06 with total page 1034 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While medical professionals continue to practice traditional allopathic medicine, the public has turned toward nutritional and integrative medical therapies, especially for addressing the proliferation of chronic diseases. Written by leaders in the academic and scientific world, Nutrition and Integrative Medicine: A Primer for Clinicians presents various modalities to help restore health. This book provides users with a guide to evaluating and recommending nutritional and integrative therapies. The book offers insights on the microbiome of the human body, examines the relationship of human health to the microbiome of the food we ingest, and introduces the concept of "food as information." It provides enlightenment on anti-aging and healing modalities, mind–body medicine, and an investigation of psychological trauma as related to disease causation. Integrative therapies, including water, light, and sound therapy, are explored, and information on healing chronic disease through nutrition, the tooth–body connection, the role of toxins in disease causation, and electromagnetic field hypersensitivity, as well as its management, is presented.

Book A Primer for the Exercise and Nutrition Sciences

Download or read book A Primer for the Exercise and Nutrition Sciences written by Christopher B. Scott and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-01-09 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What a journey writing this text has been. The lengthy voyage started well before the idea hatched of authoring a text that contained the word “thermodynamics”! I was informed by my good friend and sometimes colleague Dr. Jose Antonio that by including that word in the title, nutritionists and exercise physiologists might avoid the subject. But almost every step of my expedition was taken on a rather solid foundation of thermodynamics and as such the topic could not possibly be omitted from the title or the text of a book about bioenergetics and energy expenditure. I am not a physicist. In fact I ?rst went to college to become a football coach. That vocational choice began to deteriorate when taking the mandatory anatomy and physiology courses required of all physical education majors. This information was exciting; my interest in physical education began to wane. During sophomore year, I answered an advertisement in the school newspaper requesting research subjects.

Book When to Eat What

Download or read book When to Eat What written by E. T. Yamamoto and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2012-07-13 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "It is not what you eat, but when you eat", is a system of nutrition prevalent during the ancient Solar Dynasty, and has been revived for everyone to synchronize with the environment, allowing your-cells to be fully realized. The author searched desperately for this information, however he missed the simple piece to the puzzle. This primer encapsulates what you need to know about WHEN cells optimally process each food. You will gain confidence, and set you on a path for the rest of your life. You have learned WHAT to eat; now enlighten yourself with the knowledge of WHEN to eat what, but only If you are a SERIOUS student of nutrition in quest of maximum use of ingested food. Other paths have been helpful, with this one exception. The primer was not written to entertain; it is to be read slowly; requires study, contemplation, and individual action. This work is not for everyone, and was written for those who truly seek its contents.
