I am no helpless fine lady. They are talking of going from here to Buffalo for four dollars, if so, I hope to revisit the city in the fall. I am sorry that I ever left York State as I do not like the West. I believe you are under the impression I am either married or going to be. I can assure you it is a mistake. I am afraid I shall be under the painful necessity of dying an old maid and there is nothing so shocking in it after all. Do you remember how my grandmother scolded me for saying I was going to be married, but I do not think now I shall soon be tempted to commit...
