Book Aggregate Planning

Download or read book Aggregate Planning written by Seyyed Amir Babak Rasmi and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-01-25 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book helps readers understand the main issues, challenges, strategies, and solution methods in Aggregate Planning (AP), an important part of Supply Chain Management. The design of the book supports readers in the fields of engineering and management to learn practical knowledge about AP in a short look. Moreover, it delivers materials that consider multiple criteria in an AP model that is also required in sustainable developments. In spite of the simple structure of the book, it approaches more complicated mathematical models with single/multiple objective functions to include more practical decisions in AP. It addresses those issues without increasing the complexity of the book to keep it useful for practitioners.

Book An Encyclopedia of Keynesian Economics Second edition

Download or read book An Encyclopedia of Keynesian Economics Second edition written by Thomas Cate and published by Edward Elgar Publishing. This book was released on 2013-01-01 with total page 705 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acclaim for the first edition: ÔThis easy-to-read collection . . . tells the whole story. Filled with short, well-written pieces, the encyclopedia covers the names and ideas that preceded Keynes, that carried his work to the center of the profession, and that eventually supplanted him there . . . There are excellent and unexpected articles on the Austrian school, the Lausanne school, and the Ricardo effect. There are well-done pieces on all the basic theoretical models at the heart of Keynesianism . . . [the] volume has been well put together. The editors deserve special praise for letting each contributor tell his own story. Those who oppose KeynesÕs ideas are just as well represented as those who carry the torch for him. This evenhandedness helps to ensure a volume that is truly representative and that will allow its users to get a full picture of the life and times of Keynesian economics.Õ Ð Bradley W. Bateman, Grinnell College, US ÔThe book will also be of some interest to serious scholars, partly because it includes biographies of many economists too young to have been included in the New Palgrave, such as Dornbusch, Fisher, Herschel Grossman, Kregel, Lucas, and Robert Townsend. It also includes some very interesting longer essays.Õ Ð Peter Howitt, The Economic Journal ÔThis book provides an excellent summary of the many strands of ÔKeynesianÕ- style thought both before and after 1936. Its well-considered entries take care to make explicit the assumptions and fundamental points of difference between theories too often concealed by the parents and advocates of specific theories in their zeal to promote the universality of the ideas. There is scarcely an entry that suffers from wordiness and repetition; the readerÕs scarce time is not abused.Õ Ð Elizabeth Webster, Economic Record ÔThis reviewer found using this source exhilarating and endowed with additional interest in view of the 1997 discussion on the inclusion or noninclusion of Keynesian economics in introductory economics textbooks. The editors should be applauded for helping to preserve a part of intellectual heritage.Õ Ð Bogdan Mieczkowski, American Reference Books ÔIt is the best single reference source on Keynesian economics and will be welcomed by students and teachers in economics as well as scholars in related social sciences and government policy makers.Õ Ð Educational Book Review This thoroughly revised and updated second edition of a highly acclaimed and authoritative reference work introduces the major concepts in the field of Keynesian economics. The comprehensive Encyclopedia features accessible, informative and provocative contributions by leading international scholars working in the tradition of Keynes. It brings together widely dispersed yet theoretically congruent ideas, presents concise biographies of economists who have contributed to the debate on Keynes and the Keynesian Revolution, and outlines the basic principles, models and tools used to discuss the economic consequences of The General Theory. Longer entries on specific topics associated with Keynes and the Keynesian Revolution analyse the principal factors that contributed to The General Theory, the economics of Keynes and the rise and apparent decline of Keynesian economics in greater detail. The second edition will ensure that An Encyclopedia of Keynesian Economics will remain the best single reference source on Keynesian economics and will continue to be welcomed by academics, students and teachers of economics as well as by scholars in related social sciences and government policymakers.

Book Dynamic Models of Detailed and Aggregate Production Networks

Download or read book Dynamic Models of Detailed and Aggregate Production Networks written by Michael Mizrach and published by . This book was released on 1985 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A decision support system for the management of a production organization must include an explicit model or models of the production system. When the organization faces a dynamic environment, dynamic models are most appropriate. The document presents dynamic models of production at two levels of details. First, it extends existing activity analysis models for detailed networks to include the common situation of significant, finite processing times at each activity. This extension shows that dynamic activity analysis models require different indexing functions for the application of labor and machine services and for the application of raw materials and intermediate products. It is demonstrated that the improved accuracy of this model is very significant when the typical processing time in the system exceeds the planning time-grid intervals. The importance of this development is in the identification of the underlying assumptions and range of appropriateness of the existing models and in the extension of these models to non-instantaneous production processes. Additional keywords: operations research; scheduling heuristics; dynamic linear activity analysis; models; mathematical programming; industrial engineering.

Book Aggregate Production Functions and Medium range Growth Projections

Download or read book Aggregate Production Functions and Medium range Growth Projections written by Richard R. Nelson and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Memorandum is an analysis and comparison of the implications of several different but related aggregative models of long-run economic growth. These models differ somewhat in both their ex planations of past economic growth and their pro jections of future growth. The analysis bey examining the variables and relationships stressed by the various models, and the different explanations of the 1929-1960 growth record that these models provide. A general aggregative production function is developed which includes the various models as special cases. The role of growth of the labor supply, of capital for mation, of technological advance, and of rising educational standards is examined within the framework of the models. Finally, the study examines a number of growth projections for the American economy, attempts to evaluate them within the framework provided by the general model, and suggests some of the major uncertainties involved in growth projections. One of the major con clusions of the study is that projections of U.S. growth over the next decade are extremely sensi tive to the economic model used in making those projections, and in particular to the assumed rates of growth of capital stock and total factor productivity.
