Have you wondered why your groups are not producing the fruit that was promised? Are you looking to make your small groups more effective? Cell-church specialist and pastor Dr. Joel Comiskey studied the world's most successful cell churches to determine how they effectively make disciples who make disciples. These churches have embraced specific principles. Book How to Evangelize on the College Campus

Download or read book How to Evangelize on the College Campus written by William S. Crockett Jr. and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2015-03-02 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What would Jesus do if He visited your college campus? Walk around? Read books and drink coffee? Or would He preach the Gospel? As Christians, we are called to bring the truth of God and everything the Lord has taught us to the people around us. At times, this may be difficult because of our lack of biblical teaching on evangelism. This book is designed to show people how simple it is to fulfill the Great Commission even in their daily lives. As an individual is led by the Holy Spirit, power and deliverance are brought forth in mighty ways and the fire of God is displayed. Evangelism does not have to be a burdensome act, rather an enjoyable adventure with Jesus. Whether you are a new believer or a world-renowned evangelist, the teachings in this book are simple, yet profound. Everything from tracts to open-air preaching is discussed while referencing the scriptures. A successful soldier has proven techniques for battle, and so should we if we are to be successful evangelists. Not only for college students, this book can be used by anyone that so desires to spread the Good News of Gods salvation. By the grace of God, may we all listen and obey the words of the apostle Paul and do the work of an evangelist.

Book Getting Students to Show Up

Download or read book Getting Students to Show Up written by Jonathan McKee and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2009-07-13 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whenever I talk with youth workers at big events, I see the same look in their eyes. It’s the look of, “I want to pull off an event like this.” I regularly get phone calls from youth workers around the country saying, “We’ve never done anything like this before, but we wanted to do a big evangelism event . . .” At 80% of the events I speak at each year it seems as if the youth worker in charge expected large numbers, only to get a fourth of his or her expectations. The heart is there and the motives are pure . . . but the experience and know-how are in short supply. Most youth workers would love to pull off successful outreach events, if they only knew how. Youth workers are only learning how to program outreach events by “trial and error.” They need a resource to not only teach them the basics in programming outreach events, but also give them tools and examples that actually work. This book will help them understand the mindset of this outreach crowd, and give them the tools to plan effective outreach programs. The book will show them examples of how NOT to do it, as well as giving them “ready-made” events that work. It will also provide the basics such as the importance of DRAW, and aligning every single element with the events PURPOSE. The target market is all youth workers who want to plan weekly outreach programs, big events, or campus programs. A secondary audience would be student leaders who want to learn how to run 20 minute lunchtime “Bible Clubs,” geared for outreach. Youth workers would be the gatekeepers to this audience, because they are the ones who would purchase the books for their student leaders

Book excerpt: A few small changes can make a big difference. As your students graduate high school, are they graduating from church too? Research shows that the majority of teenagers who are active in church during high school stop attending shortly after. In a new study, LifeWay Student Ministry and LifeWay Research have partnered to identify the factors that are contributing to this disturbing trend as well as those factors that contribute to teens staying in church. In his first book, Student Ministry That Matters, Ben Trueblood laid out a clear approach to creating a healthy student ministry in any context. In this book, Ben points student ministry leaders to the hope found within this startling statistic. The solution is not a full-scale revamping of student ministry. Rather, the hope for helping students build lifelong faith and keeping them connected to the church after high school is just a few small changes away. Benefits Prepare students to stay connected to a local church once they graduate high school Identify where we are, what we're finding in the data, and action steps we can take in the church and in families to keep students engaged Understand factors that influenced students who stayed in church and those who didn't Consider what's going on in the home and how this contributes to students staying in or leaving a local church Identify tools and establish a clear and simple course of correction: Here's where we're missing it, where we can evaluate, and where we can move on Ben Trueblood serves as the Director of Student Ministry for LifeWay Christian Resources. Ben has eighteen years of student ministry experience, fourteen of which were spent in the local church as a student pastor. In addition to his role at LifeWay Ben is involved in training, consulting, and speaking to student ministries throughout the U.S. He is driven by a desire for student ministries to expand God's Kingdom, to see the lives of students transformed by the gospel, and to develop students who shape the culture in which they live. Ben is also the author of Student Ministry That Matters and A Different College Experience. Ben and his wife, Kristen, have four children. In his free time Ben enjoys family, hunting, is a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan, and is an affiliate streamer on Twitch under the name of Flashbang_CSN. Connect with Ben on twitter at: @bentrueblood
