Book Electrical Safety Code Manual

Download or read book Electrical Safety Code Manual written by Kimberley Keller and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2010-07-19 with total page 397 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Safety in any workplace is extremely important. In the case of the electrical industry, safety is critical and the codes and regulations which determine safe practices are both diverse and complicated. Employers, electricians, electrical system designers, inspectors, engineers and architects must comply with safety standards listed in the National Electrical Code, OSHA and NFPA 70E. Unfortunately, the publications which list these safety requirements are written in very technically advanced terms and the average person has an extremely difficult time understanding exactly what they need to do to ensure safe installations and working environments. Electrical Safety Code Manual will tie together the various regulations and practices for electrical safety and translate these complicated standards into easy to understand terms. This will result in a publication that is a practical, if not essential, asset to not only designers and company owners but to the electricians who must put compliance requirements into action in the field. - Best-practice methods for accident prevention and electrical hazard avoidance - Current safety regulations, including new standards from OSHA, NEC, NESC, and NFPA - Information on low-, medium-, and high-voltage safety systems - Step-by-step guidelines on safety audits - Training program how-to's, from setup to rescue and first aid procedures

Book Practical Electrical Engineering Direct Currents

Download or read book Practical Electrical Engineering Direct Currents written by Harry George Cisin and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-17 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Practical Electrical Engineering, Direct Currents: A Manual for Use in Industrial and Evening Schools and for Home Study The next lessons are devoted to direct-current measurements and to primary and secondary cells, and these are followed by lessons on direct-current generators and motors. Fundamental laws are always referred to, so that the student increases his knowledge step-by-step and in a logical manner. The appendix contains a complete laboratory course of twenty experiments which will be found serviceable in supplementing the text. The topical form of the text and the use of main headings and sub-headings serve to emphasize the important points of the subject. The outlines preceding each lesson will prove of value to the instructor in preparing his lectures, and to the student in summarizing and in reviewing his text assignments. The electrician who has gained his knowledge of things electrical by actual practice can obtain from this book a real understanding of the basic principles of electrical engineering. Having mastered the text, he will know "why" as well as "how." There are a number of men engaged in the electrical industry, many in important executive and non-technical positions, who have had neither the time nor the opportunity to obtain even a general knowledge of electrical science. Such men will find in this book exactly what they have been looking for - the facts presented in simplified but not childish form and in a manner which can be grasped by those who do not possess either a college education or technical training. Book A Manual of Electricity Magnetism and Meteorology Vol 1 Classic Reprint

Download or read book A Manual of Electricity Magnetism and Meteorology Vol 1 Classic Reprint written by Dionysius Lardner and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-03 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Manual of Electricity, Magnetism, and Meteorology, Vol. 1 The various circumstances connected. With the progress of discovery in electricity, are too interesting and instructive to be omitted, and yet to interweave them with the body of the work, would have rendered it necessary to adopt an order and method, not the most eligible for the purposes of instruction in the existing state of our knowledge. I have, therefore, separated from the rest of the work the narrative of the progressive discovery of electrical science, and consigned it to the introduction. Book Magnetism and Electricity

Download or read book Magnetism and Electricity written by E. E. Brooks and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-16 with total page 643 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Magnetism and Electricity: A Manual for Students in Advanced Classes Owing to the enormous progress made in scientific research during the last twenty years, and to the consequent developments in electrical theory, this volume has been prepared to replace Poyser's Advanced Magnetism and Electricity, originally published in 1892. Practically, the whole of the subject-matter has been rewritten on modern lines; indeed, little of the old book remains except its experimental form. This has been retained because it is important that a beginner should learn to recognise that all theory is based upon a groundwork of experimental fact. The present work is intended to afford such a range of general reading in the subject as is desirable for the majority of students, before they begin to specialise either in pure science or in the various branches of electrical engineering. They are assumed to have an elementary knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and mechanics. The scope of the volume is that required for the pass examinations of the Universities, and for the examinations of the Board of Education. The chapters marked with an asterisk need not be read for the Lower Examination of the latter body. The sequence adopted is based upon a long experience in teaching. We freely admit that several alternatives are possible, each possessing its own advantages; and that room exists for wide differences of opinion as to the most logical form of treatment. Again, we are conscious that many important subjects have been inadequately treated, but we hope that the various references and allusions will be regarded as indicating directions for further study. Although the electron has received a considerable amount of attention, we have thought it undesirable (in the present state of uncertainty as to the true nature of a positive charge) to base an elementary treatise entirely upon its properties.
