Book A Journey Beyond My Dreams

Download or read book A Journey Beyond My Dreams written by Sandra Jones and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-03-11 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Journey Beyond My Dreams is a summary of the life of a person that believed God's Word and then moved forward trusting him. The story begins as it tells of a young girl that was called by God at an early age to serve Him in ministry to others. It then follows her through her formative years and on into adulthood. It holds within its pages an account of a person who has faced trials, tests, disappointments, and loss. But it also reveals the spiritual growth and the favor of God that took place in her life along the way. The journey also describes the joy that is found in relationships as well as the pain, sorrow, and hardships experienced in widowhood and through the experience of domestic violence which attempted to destroy her true identity and her eventual destiny. She shares her story of religious gender bias and prejudice that detoured her from her early calling. Nevertheless, because of her faith and confidence in God's grace, she was able to be restored into a life and calling she never thought was possible. Her journey is still being written as she now serves in local government. Perhaps some of the pages in her life will connect to some of the pages in your life.

Book excerpt: “Rousing entertainment” in this award-winning trilogy about telepathically linked pairs of killers by a “top drawer practitioner of adrenalizing action SF” (SFReviews.net). In Christopher Hinz’s award-winning, postapocalyptic sci-fi trilogy, the Paratwa are genetically modified assassins who occupy two bodies telepathically connected and controlled by a single vicious mind. Humanity’s only hope for survival is to defeat these seemingly unstoppable warriors. Liege-Killer: Two hundred years after a nuclear apocalypse forced humanity to flee Earth, twenty-fourth-century humans still remember the most feared warriors—the genetically enhanced Paratwa—believed extinct since that holocaust. Or are they? Someone has revived the legendary Paratwa named Reemul, also known as the Liege-Killer, from stasis and sent him to terrorize and subjugate the peaceful orbital colonies of Earth. Winner of the Compton Crook Award. “A genuine page-turner, exciting from start to finish . . . don’t miss it.” —Locus “A spectacular action thriller . . . I can’t recall a debut quite this auspicious and exciting recently.” —SFReviews.net Ash Ock: A mysterious virus infecting the humans’ database signals the return of their dreaded enemies—and this new generation of Paratwa is far deadlier than the old, forming a powerful caste of fighter known as the Ash Ock. The threat of imminent attack has prompted the revival of two Paratwa hunters from stasis, Nick and Gillian, who may be the only ones who can stop the Ash Ock from dominating the last holdouts of humanity. “Ash Ock leaves you at the end wanting to dive straight into the final novel” —SFReviews.net “Maintains the stylish writing and plotting of Hinz’s Liege-Killer . . . Deadly seductresses, unstable ingénues, and scheming scientists populate the fanciful adventures.” —Publishers Weekly The Paratwa: The Irryan colonists prepare to defend themselves against invasion by the Paratwa. As renegade Paratwa Gillian is wrestling with internal turmoil over her identity and the long-ago murder of her other half, Nick uncovers the Ash Ock’s startling true intentions and races to stop them. “Crashes through your front door like the assassins of its title, kicking ass and taking names.” —SFReviews.net “Surprising plot twists and satisfying resolutions in this exciting, smoothly written wrap-up.” —Publishers Weekly

Book excerpt: A Spark of the Fire: The inspiration for most of this Sci-Fi and Fantasy book was the stories of my Native ancestors, my dreams, and Norse mythology. But then, where did the original stories and dreams come from? My dreams that began in the first story in this book, The Forest, have been with me almost since birth. I have remembered and wrote in my dream journals about meeting someone, who has been part of my Dreamtime and eventually waking life, who I believe to be my soulmate. Native stories have been the inspiration for my people as long as we can remember. These stories are not usually meant to be taken literally and are told and retold orally to be changed as the situation requires shaping our reality. The theme of the stories in this book is part relationships and a paradox of interstellar travel to other worlds out there among and beyond the Stars. I recall the words of Einstein who is mostly responsible for the theory concerning our inability to travel beyond the speed of light: Imagination is more important than Knowledge. And then my Native ancestors: We Are all Related. This book may then be an Aboriginal Theory of Relativity. .winterhawk

Book Lucid Dreaming

Download or read book Lucid Dreaming written by Robert Waggoner and published by Red Wheel/Weiser. This book was released on 2008-10-01 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self is the account of an extraordinarily talented lucid dreamer who goes beyond the boundaries of both psychology and religion. In the process, he stumbles upon the Inner Self. While lucid (consciously aware) in the dream state and able to act and interact with dream figures, objects, and settings, dream expert Robert Waggoner experienced something transformative and unexpected. He was able to interact consciously with the dream observer - the apparent Inner Self - within the dream. At first this seemed shocking, even impossible, since psychology normally alludes to such theoretical inner aspects as the Subliminal Self, the Center, the Internal Self-Helper in vague and theoretical ways. Waggoner came to realize, however, that aware interaction with the Inner Self was not only possible, but actual and highly inspiring. He concluded that while aware in the dream state, one has both a psychological tool and a platform from which to understand dreaming and the larger picture of man's psyche as well. Waggoner proposes 5 stages of lucid dreaming and guides readers through them, offering advice for those who have never experienced the lucid dream state and suggestions for how experienced lucid dreamers can advance to a new level. Lucid Dreaming offers exciting insights and vivid illustrations that will intrigue not only avid dreamworkers but anyone who is interested in consciousness, identity, and the definition of reality.
