Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Charming fable that will guide you to happiness. A Higher Branch will live in your heart forever. It will take you on a journey where you will discover a fearlessness you were born with. It will empower you in a way that makes living a happy and successful life seem effortless, leaving you wondering where this wisdom has been hidden all these years. People are calling it "a blueprint for living a complete and happy life in the 21st Century." About the book It's a story about an eight-year-old boy, Tom, who loves to climb trees. One day he goes into the woods and loses his way home. There he meets a mysteriously familiar wise old man who guides him back home by sharing with him the story of his own life and the imperative lessons he has learned along the way. The fable serves as a simple metaphor for how some people lose their way in life but choose to do nothing about it. Being lost is a terrifying experience for a child, but as adults we sometimes accept this as a normal way of life. We forget that we have a choice to make and often don't know what action to take. We are never given a guide to follow. What this book will do for you. Make your thoughts and feelings impenetrable to negativity. Empower you to take life-changing action. Hard-wire you for happiness and prosperity. Reveal to you the true source of immense physical energy What People Are Saying "A Higher Branch is a breath of fresh air. The message is powerful and the results have been nothing short of remarkable." - Paul Agnew, Managing Partner, McKays Solicitors - Brisbane Australia. "Chapter 8 of Sam's book is compulsory reading for anyone serious about business excellence and wealth creation." - Bakous Makari, Wealth Creation Expert and Winner 2010 Business Person of the Year, Sydney Australia. "Your book resonated with me in a remarkable way." - Karen Smith, Midwife, Melbourne, Australia

Book Domenico Brucciani and the Formatori of 19th Century Britain

Download or read book Domenico Brucciani and the Formatori of 19th Century Britain written by Rebecca Wade and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2018-10-18 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Born near the Tuscan province of Lucca in 1815, Domenico Brucciani became the most important and prolific maker of plaster casts in nineteenth-century Britain. This first substantive study shows how he and his business used public exhibitions, emerging museum culture and the nationalisation of art education to monopolise the market for reproductions of classical and contemporary sculpture. Based in Covent Garden in London, Brucciani built a network of fellow Italian émigré formatori and collaborated with other makers of facsimiles-including Elkington the electrotype manufacturers, Copeland the makers of Parian ware and Benjamin Cheverton with his sculpture reducing machine-to bring sculpture into the spaces of learning and leisure for as broad a public as possible. Brucciani's plaster casts survive in collections from North America to New Zealand, but the extraordinary breadth of his practice-making death masks of the famous and infamous, producing pioneering casts of anatomical, botanical and fossil specimens and decorating dance halls and theatres across Britain-is revealed here for the first time. By making unprecedented use of the nineteenth-century periodical press and dispersed archival sources, Domenico Brucciani and the Formatori of Nineteenth-Century Britain establishes the significance of Brucciani's sculptural practice to the visual and material cultures of Victorian Britain and beyond.

Book The Art of Policymaking

Download or read book The Art of Policymaking written by George E. Shambaugh IV and published by CQ Press. This book was released on 2015-12-14 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Art of Policymaking: Tools, Techniques and Processes in the Modern Executive Branch, Second Edition is a practical introduction to the specific tools, techniques, and processes used to create policy in the executive branch of the U.S. government. George E. Shambaugh, IV and Paul Weinstein, Jr. explain how government officials craft policy, manage the policymaking process, and communicate those policies to stakeholders and the public at large. The authors draw on both their academic and government experience to provide real-world advice on writing memos, preparing polling questions, and navigating the clearance process. An abundance of case studies show how actual policies are developed and how and why policies and processes differ across administrations. Practice scenarios allow students to apply the tools and techniques they have learned by working through both domestic and foreign policy situations.

Download or read book Ireland on Show written by Fintan Cullen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-07-05 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Looking past the apparent lack of a sustainable Irish display culture, this book demonstrates that there is a very full story to tell of the way Ireland displayed its art from the late eighteenth to the early twentieth century. Ireland on Show analyzes the impact of the display of art as a significant political and cultural feature in the make-up of nineteenth-century Ireland - and in how Ireland was viewed beyond its own shores, in particular in Great Britain and the United States. Fintan Cullen directs much-needed critical attention and analysis to a subject that has been largely overlooked from an Irish perspective. This study moves beyond museums, to address the range of art institutions in Irish cities that displayed art, from the Royal Hibernian Academy, founded in the 1820s, to Hugh Lane's Municipal Art Gallery, opened in Dublin in 1908. Throughout, the book explores the battle between the display of a unionist ethos and a nationalist point of view, a constant that resurfaces over the period. By highlighting the tension between unionist and nationalist viewpoints, Cullen uses the display of art to investigate the complexities of Irish cultural life before the founding of the Free State.
