Download or read book A Guide to Longevity Foods Diets and Supplements written by Martin K. Ettington and published by Martin K. Ettington. This book was released on with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is great interest out there in what people can do to improve their longevity. I’ve been writing books about longevity for fourteen years and I realized there was one topic I had not really covered in detail. That topic is what are the foods and supplements we can take which will help make us healthy enough to lengthen our lives. Improving individual longevity is not just about foods and supplements. There are a lot of factors which all affect longevity so I have a chapter here which talks about my work “The 10 Principles of Personal Longevity” which covers those issues in more detail. In addition there are some specific physical issues like telomeres, inflammation, and oxidative stress which also affect chronic diseases and therefore longevity and these are discussed in detail. I also think it is pertinent to see what long lived communities eat so I’ve copied some of the key data and conclusions from my book on four long lived communities around the world to see what their diets are. Some recipes of their traditional foods are also included. Foods and supplements which have been known from historical times and today are discussed in detail for you to learn what the wisdom of the ages and science knows about the correct foods and supplements to eat. After reading this book you will have new ideas about the food, diets, and supplements you can eat to help you live a much longer and healthier life.

This book was released on 2022-07-24 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No matter what, we will all age. While worrying about wrinkles and sagging is typical, there's so much more than that to aging well. Aging gracefully isn't about looking like a 20-year-old — it is quite the opposite; it's about living your best life and having the physical and mental health to enjoy it. In this stage of our lives, beauty is a reflection of inner contentment with who we are and not necessarily what we look like on the outside. Moreover, beauty is personified in radiant health and inner beauty that flows from a core of harmony and balance. But did you know that you need to change how you eat and exercise to stay healthy, beautiful, and strong after 40? This is because once you hit 40, the rules of the game change, and how you eat and exercise in your 20 and 30s may be causing you to be sick, gain weight, inflammation, and overall age faster. In this book, Dr. Toni provides tools that will guide you to be healthy and beautiful no matter your age. It outlines the steps you need to take to live a life full of vitality in your 40s and for the rest of your life. In addition, she delineates an overall protocol that goes beyond your body's needs. The topics include exercise, nutrition, weight management, mental health, stress management, and much more. You will learn what foods to eat and what supplements are needed as we age to look young and stay healthy. Moreover, to make things easier, she gives you over one hundred delicious, easy-to-make recipes that will keep you healthy as you age. Note, I created two versions of this book; This one is the quick guide without recipes for those that are not interested in cooking but still want to know what it takes to age well. The second version is the cookbook, which is a 2-in-1 book that contains the guidebook and over 250 delicious and easy-to-make recipes. Both versions are available on Paperback too. The printed version of the cookbook has almost 400 color pages; it is beautiful.

Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER As Featured on PBS How to stay healthy and boost immunity with #1 New York Times bestselling author Dr. Joel Fuhrman's no-nonsense, results-driven nutrition plan. As a family physician for over 30 years and #1 New York Times bestselling author Joel Fuhrman, M.D. will tell you that doctors and medications cannot grant you excellent health or protection from disease and suffering. The most effective health-care is proper self-care and that starts with changing the way we eat. Eat for Life delivers a science-backed nutrition-based program that prevents and even reverses most medical problems within three to six months. This is a bold claim but the science and the tens of thousands who have tried this approach back it up. The truth is: you simply do not have to be sick. Most Americans are deficient in the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients found in plants (micronutrients), and consume too many fats, proteins, carbohydrates (macronutrients). The results of this standard diet is that we are not only shortening our lives but damaging our energy, vitality, and daily health by eating packaged and processed foods, excessive meat and dairy, and unsustainable amounts of salt and sugar. What we need is to consume foods rich in phytonutrients such as greens, beans, onions, mushrooms, berries, and seeds. These delicious and abundant foods contain the largest assortment of micronutrients and when consumed in adequate quantities they prevent and reverse diabetes and heart-disease, lower cholesterol and blood pressure, and reduce hunger and food cravings. Rooted in the latest nutritional science and complete with recipes, menu plans, and testimonials, Eat for Life offers everything you need to change the course of your health and put this life-changing program to work for you.
