Book excerpt: A sense of fatigue dogs the fitness world. Many of the new programs that are tagged as groundbreaking are actually recycled ideas. Foundation offers something completely different for novices and athletes alike: a simple program with powerful and proven results that will remedy bad posture, alleviate back pain, and help readers break through fitness challenges and plateaus. Dr. Eric Goodman, a brilliant and dynamic young chiropractor, teams up with Peter Park, one of the top trainers in the United States, to radically redefine the core--shifting the focus from the front of the body to the back. Their groundbreaking approach works to strengthen the lower back and the full posterior chain and correct poor movement patterns by addressing mechanical imbalances and weaknesses. Foundation training involves simple movement patterns and is equipment free, creating maximum power, flexibility, and endurance. Word-of-mouth enthusiasm has inspired both Hollywood luminaries and world-class athletes to make Foundation training the core of their fitness programs. Eric and Peter's client list has grown exponentially to include Lance Armstrong, NBA star Derek Fisher, world-champion surfer Kelly Slater, and actor Matthew McConaughey.

Book A Strong Core for Life

Download or read book A Strong Core for Life written by Sue Dumais and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 93 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are many books available on abdominal exercises and core training. The word "core" is being used a lot in the media and by society; in fact the "core" is the big "buzz word" in the fitness industry. Many people believe their core is their abdominals and to some degree that is true. It might be easier to picture the deep core as your foundation and your outer core as the abdominals and torso. My approach to core training is to focus on the deep core muscles. The deep core or local muscles are closer to the joints. They provide stability and create a foundation for your body. Once you have the ability to control the contraction of your deep core muscles you can move on to the abdominal exercises. Training your abdominals is much easier than connecting to your deep core muscles, however making a conscious connection to your deep core will improve your body in ways you would never have imagined. The deep core exercises in this book will help reduce your risk of injuries, prevent back and pelvic pain, improve posture, prevent or treat urinary incontinence and hemorrhoids, flatten your tummy (girdle affect), improve your sex life, provide support during pregnancy, decrease your postpartum recovery time, help regulate your menstrual cycle and improve fertility. My question to you is what are you waiting for? Let's get your body working for you. Supporting you and allowing you to do everything you want to do without pain. In our society we are taught to achieve bigger and better. Stronger is not strong enough. Isolating the deep core muscles is subtle and gentle work but it will create a profound impact in how you function in daily life. All I ask is that you achieve success in the 5 deep core exercises first before you move to the abdominal exercises. Let’s start training your body for every day life. Let's lay the foundation and build on it from there.

Book Core Conditioning for Horses

Download or read book Core Conditioning for Horses written by Simon Cocozza and published by Trafalgar Square Books. This book was released on 2019-10-22 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gentle ways to improve the horse’s core fitness while relieving pain related to conditions such as kissing spine. Every equestrian wants to know: what is the difference between the horse that “dances” when you are on him, and the one that doesn’t? According to Visconte Simon Cocozza, Trainer and Examiner for the La Fédération Française d'Equitation (FFE), it all comes down to the horse’s posture. The horse’s ability to use the powerful mechanisms already built into his body relies not upon the strength we can see on the outside but the strength on the inside. This invisible and complex arrangement of internal “core” muscles control the horse’s posture, suppleness, and agility. Their good condition is the key to the dance. Equine core muscles are very difficult to isolate with the traditional training techniques common to horse sports. However, by examining what we do with the human body when faced with a weak core, we can find new methods for conditioning these areas of the equine body. Cocozza has taken principles of the human practice of yoga and used them to develop novel ways of reaching deep within the horse’s body and: Gently “unlock” areas that may be a little “rusty.” Improve core fitness. And even relieve pain related to conditions such as kissing spine. In this highly illustrated book, he provides step-by-step instruction explaining easy mounted exercises that enhance the horse’s posture, and boost his confidence in his body and movement, making him easier to ride, and ultimately, the dance partner you’ve always imagined.
