We feel happy where our living conditions become easy, joyful and stress free. These things constitute the quality of life. People who enjoy freedom and share their love with other people deem to have better quality of life than those who put under circumstances that create unhappiness and hate for others. Likewise, things like attitude of people, healthy social interactions, availability of essential goods, suitable opportunities, fair deal, social welfare, healthcare, non- interference and overall concerns for each other lead to the level of desired quality of life. Life exists even under utmost difficult circumstances such as abject poverty, diseases, Inhuman treatment given to fellow people and exploitation of man by man. Such a life is full of miseries and unhappiness and not worth living. The quality of life exists where love and concern for other take priority over self. Such is the case in America. The story goes back when I arrived here from Africa ( Botswana) in 2002. My wife came with me and as usual we carried four big suitcases and cabin luggage. The luggage was heavy and a bit difficult to carry. There came a gentleman and asked" May I help you?" "Hunger is the foremost drive in any living organism." It is more so in higher animals such as human beings. The hunger and food go hand in hand but in opposite directions. In fact they never go in one direction until the food satisfies the hunger. Once the hunger is satisfied, it may allow the food to go away and rest. The natural landscape matters a lot in creating scenic beauty of a place andthe American landscape is second to none. It is one of the best in the world. The tall and lush green trees, eye caching meadows sprawling across the country and punctuated very appropriately with beautiful rivers, lakes and mountains. The nature is bountiful almost everywhere in the world except a few exceptions. It has provided almost everything that were given to America. But people in other countries did not appreciate the real value of natural landscape. They did not protect it from destruction and remained unconcerned about its development. The lack of protection and unconcerned attitude destroyed the natural landscape. Americans are deferent from the other lot. They were aware about the value of natural landscape right from the day one when they landed at the American coast more than two centuries ago. Americans changed narrow wagon tracks into wide strong, beautiful and well connected natural road net work and that too with rational logic and utility. The immigrants virtually found no roads when they disembarked "May flower." But soon they felt the absence of good roads network. They were perhaps well aware of the importance of roads and that information motivated them for the development of roads. The quality of life improved greatly when technology is put into action. Americans strongly believe in this concept and use it properly in order to make their life easy, comfortable, joyful and healthy. Different types of technologies are used in their day-to-day life. The list of technologies and their application is endless and much out of scope for this book. However, most important technologies are mentioned here to draw the point at home. Other parts of the world also use suchtechnologies but not at the rate, used in America. The technology is not static and develops at much faster rate than its possible overrun. Newer and better technologies are developed at such a fast pace that the consumers feel tempted to replace older versions even when they serve the purpose so well and almost equal to the newer technology developed to replace it. Such type of technological use is found only in America. The technology used in day-to-day life of Americans may take several years before it goes to other parts of the world
