The happiness, bitterness, and humor are fueled by extreme turning points and multiple changes of ideologies, cultures, and idiosyncrasies that molded the main character into a psychedelic hodgepodge of personality. Readers will take on all the emotional elements, experiences, and constant changes as they were happening. They uncover the answers and realizations of feeling alone and unwanted until they are warmed and tickled by the character's way of viewing the world. The title of the book and each chapter reflects the constant changes during the main character's life. The theme, style, and language are comparable to Angela's Ashes, A Child Called "It,", and I'm Nobody's Child. It is not a woe-is-me book. The detailed descriptions allow readers to feel the despair of what it is like being an anomaly but, more importantly, to enjoy and have fun learning about typical boy fantasies, thoughts, rationales, and the angst and anxieties of growing up.

These writings include not only memoir, autobiography, biography, diaries, autobiographical fiction, and biographical fiction, but letters, writs, wills, written anecdotes, depositions, marginalia, lyric poems, scientific and historical writings, and digital forms (including blogs, tweets, Facebook entries). On Life-Writing offers a sampling of approaches to the study of life-writing, introducing readers to something of the range of forms the term encompasses, their changing fortunes and features, the notions of 'life,' 'self' and 'story' which help to explain these changing fortunes and features, recent attempts to group forms, the permeability of the boundaries between forms, the moral problems raised by life-writing in all forms, but particularly in fictional forms, and the relations between life-writing and history, life-writing and psychoanalysis, life-writing and philosophy. Included were biostatisticians, psychometricians and public health professionals (e.g., physicians, sociologists, psychologists) active in the study ofHRQoL. In assembling this volume, we invited each conference participant to contribute a paper based on his or her presentation and the ensuing and very interesting discussions that took place in Arradon. All papers were peer-reviewed, by anonymous reviewers, and revised before final editing and acceptance. Although this process was quite time consuming, we believe that it greatly improved the volume as a whole, making this book a valuable contribution to the field ofHRQoL research. The volume presents a broad spectrum of papers presented at the Workshop, and thus illustrates the range of current research related to the theory, methods and applications of HRQoL, as well as the interdisciplinary nature ofthis work.
