Book Dynamic Cloud Collaboration Platform

Download or read book Dynamic Cloud Collaboration Platform written by Mohammad Mehedi Hassan and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-09-14 with total page 81 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Present trends in cloud providers (CPs) capabilities have given rise to the interest in federating or collaborating clouds, thus allowing providers to revel on an increased scale and reach more than that is achievable individually. Current research efforts in this context mainly focus on building supply chain collaboration (SCC) models, in which CPs leverage cloud services from other CPs for seamless provisioning. Nevertheless, in the near future, we can expect that hundreds of CPs will compete to offer services and thousands of users will also compete to receive the services to run their complex heterogeneous applications on a cloud computing environment. In this open federation scenario, existing collaboration models (i.e. SCC) are not applicable since they are designed for static environments where a-priori agreements among the parties are needed to establish the federation. To move beyond these shortcomings, Dynamic Cloud Collaboration Platform establishes the basis for developing dynamic, advanced and efficient collaborative cloud service solutions that are scalable, high performance, and cost effective. We term the technology for inter-connection and inter-operation of CPs in open cloud federation as Dynamic Cloud Collaboration (DCC), in which various CPs (small, medium, and large) of complementary service requirements will collaborate dynamically to gain economies of scale and enlargements of their capabilities to meet quality of service (QoS) requirements of consumers. In this context, this book addresses four key issues - when to collaborate (triggering circumstances), whom to collaborate with (suitable partners), how to collaborate (architectural model), and how to demonstrate collaboration applicability (simulation study). It also provides solutions, which are effective in real environments.

They introduce an empirically validated team typology and workspace analysis of dialogue spaces called ‘We-Spaces’. Featuring real world examples and cases of teams that have become self-organizing, this book is a valuable resource for upper and middle level managers, CEOs, Board of Directors as well as consultants, researchers and academics in human resource management, adult development, team building, leadership and organizational management.

Book Power Through Partnership

Download or read book Power Through Partnership written by Betsy Polk and published by Berrett-Koehler Publishers. This book was released on 2014-11-03 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polk and Chotas explore and destroy the myths, stereotypes, and misplaced fears that get in the way of female partnerships. Drawing from their own twelve-year partnership and from interviews with 125 women business partners across the world, they have learned something powerful: when women work together they discover a level of support, balance, confidence, accountability, and a freedom to be themselves that is rarely found in other work relationships. Heroic male partnerships are a staple business success story, but female partnerships rarely get the same kind of attention. This is a call for women to recognize and build on the inherent strengths that make them uniquely able to create successful, trust-based professional relationships. Readers are offered advice for handling potential challenges like finding the best partner, dealing with conflict, facing fears, taking risks, and knowing when to let go of a partnership. --
