The Joy of Cruising is an anthology that takes a look at the magic of cruising from the vantage point of travelers passionate about travel--a compendium of anecdotes, stories, and profiles of cruisers who have some unique or interesting perspective. It is not cruise-line specific, nor an industry overview, cruising guide/how-to, expos or behind the scenes. The Joy of Cruising is a positive examination of why cruisers do what they do in the pursuit of their passion.

Book excerpt: Hot flings at a seedy truck stop. Homemade glory holes in the stall walls of a dorm shower. Fun and fornication at an infamous park. Steamy bathhouse trysts and other tales of public eroticism is what Cruising is all about. As Shane Allison says, "This is the anthology I have dreamed of doing for years. There’s nothing that gets the adrenaline flowing and the muscle throbbing like public sex." Filled with hot plots and even hotter characters, Cruising doesn't shy away from new erotic territory and includes several true confessions including those of the editor himself. As with all of Allison's sexy compilations, creativity and diversity of story lines are key along with the fun factor that is the hallmark if Allison's anthologies. "One Hot Baby" by Daniel Curzonperson is a wryly sweet short about an aging straight guy who stops to pee in a park and gets an unexpected blow job, which lifts his spirits. A fierce black queen enjoys some of "New York’s Phynest" in an "arresting" erotic encounter with a hot Domincan cop in Donald Peebles Jr.'s surprise-filled story while the narrator of Rob Rosen's "Small Town Blues" gets horny in the sticks, hits on a young Indian immigrant clerk in the jiffy mart and discovers that the hicks are up for group action anytime and anywhere. Cruising moves at the highest speed and is filled with kink, sex toys, exotic locations, wild scenarios and plenty of sexual intensity.

Book Take This Book On A Cruise Ship

Download or read book Take This Book On A Cruise Ship written by Ricky Ginsburg and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2007-07 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After you've played your twenty-seventh game of shuffleboard . today, and one more lobster dinner is going to force you to grow claw crackers, find a quiet place with a comfortable deck chair. I've heard people say that a cruise ship is exciting and boring, riotous and relaxing, and they'll either never travel any other way again or move to the desert. Nevertheless, everyone seems to agree-the ships are always packed with enough people to make single-file a lifestyle. Here's a book to take with you when you do locate an unpopulated corner of your floating pool deck. Two dozen ways to escape from anxious deckhands laden with fresh towels, single women and men seeking a night, a cruise, or a bankroll, and those wonderful toddlers who think every solid object is a drum. The stories are grouped together in groups of three with some obvious, well maybe not always obvious, connection. Read them slowly, alone or with a friend, if that's your reason for taking the ship in the first place. Take your time, though, don't rush; save a few stories for the lifeboat.

Book Cruising the Library

Download or read book Cruising the Library written by Melissa Adler and published by Fordham Univ Press. This book was released on 2017-04-03 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cruising the Library offers a highly innovative analysis of the history of sexuality and categories of sexual perversion through a critical examination of the Library of Congress and its cataloging practices. Taking the publication of Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick’s Epistemologies of the Closet as emblematic of the Library’s inability to account for sexual difference, Melissa Adler embarks upon a detailed critique of how cataloging systems have delimited and proscribed expressions of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and race in a manner that mirrors psychiatric and sociological attempts to pathologize non-normative sexual practices and civil subjects. Taking up a parallel analysis, Adler utilizes Roderick A. Ferguson’s Aberrations in Black as another example of how the Library of Congress fails to account for, and thereby “buries,” difference. She examines the physical space of the Library as one that encourages forms of governmentality as theorized by Michel Foucault while also allowing for its utopian possibilities. Finally, she offers a brief but highly illuminating history of the Delta Collection. Likely established before the turn of the twentieth century and active until its gradual dissolution in the 1960s, the Delta Collection was a secret archive within the Library of Congress that housed materials confiscated by the United States Post Office and other federal agencies. These were materials deemed too obscene for public dissemination or general access. Adler reveals how the Delta Collection was used to regulate difference and squelch dissent in the McCarthy era while also linking it to evolving understandings of so-called perversion in the scientific study of sexual difference. Sophisticated, engrossing, and highly readable, Cruising the Library provides us with a critical understanding of library science, an alternative view of discourses around the history of sexuality, and an analysis of the relationship between governmentality and the cataloging of research and information—as well as categories of difference—in American culture.
