Einleitung Die folgende Arbeit setzt sich mit der Figur des Königs in dem Drama „El rey Don Pedro en Madrid y el infanzón de Illescas“ von Lope de Vega auseinander. Vorerst wird der Autor Lope Félix de Vega Carpio vorgestellt, um deutlich zu machen wie eng er mit den Königen seiner Zeit zusammengelebt hat. Dann folgt eine Erläuterung über den historischen Hintergrund des Dramas und seine Hauptdarsteller. Daraufhin wird das Drama in seinen wichtigsten Aspekten dargestellt sowie die beiden Hauptcharaktere, Don Pedro und Don Tello, und ihre Eigenheiten. Schließlich kommt es dann zu einem Vergleich des königlichen Handelns und den Prämissen in den Traktaten von Mariana, Roa Dávila, Suárez und Vitoria. Vergleichen in dem Sinn, dass man sich anschaut welche Maxime für das Drama relevant sind, inwieweit sie eingehalten werden und wo oder wer diesen Prämissen, der eben erwähnten Philosophen, nicht entspricht. Es ist auch interessant festzustellen ob Lope Félix de Vega Carpio dieses Drama als Kritik an den König bezeichnet oder es eher als eine Würdigung an den König sieht. [...]
