Download or read book Thermodynamic Tables Bibliography and Property File written by Harold L. Schick and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2013-09-24 with total page 800 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thermodynamics of Certain Refractory Compounds, Volume II: Thermodynamic Tables, Bibliography, and Property File provides information pertinent to thermodynamics as a significant theoretical tool for predicting the chemical and physical behavior of materials under diverse environmental conditions. This book presents a compilation of thermodynamic tables generated on this project. Organized into three chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the wide range in quality of thermodynamic data. This text then presents a bibliography as well as property file, which is essentially a subject index for use with the bibliography. Other chapters consider the investigation of thermodynamic properties of the given compounds. This book also presents tables labeled with the initials of the responsible scientist and the approximate date of analysis. The final chapter deals with the property file code. This book is a valuable resource for scientists and engineers.

Book Thermochemical Data for Reactor Materials and Fission Products

Download or read book Thermochemical Data for Reactor Materials and Fission Products written by E. H. P. Cordfunke and published by North Holland. This book was released on 1990 with total page 706 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume presents a collection of critically assessed data on inorganic compounds which are of special interest in nuclear reactor safety studies. Thermodynamic equilibrium calculations are an important and widely used instrument in the understanding of the chemical behaviour and release of fission products in the course of nuclear reactor accidents. The reliability of such calculations is, nevertheless, limited by the availability of accurate input data for relevant compounds. The present work examines a wide variety of elements and compounds (oxides, hydroxides, actinides, iodides, tellurides, alloys, and ternary oxides) relevant to light water and fast nuclear reactors, in their condensed and gaseous state, many of which have been evaluated here for the first time. Recommended values, obtained from a critical evaluation of the literature, are given in an extensive explanatory text, and compiled in thermochemical tables from 298 to 3000 K. Special attention is also given to the crystallographic properties of the condensed phases.

Book Description of Input and Examples for Phreeqc Version 3

Download or read book Description of Input and Examples for Phreeqc Version 3 written by David L. Parkhurst and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2014-07-17 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PHREEQC version 3 is a computer program written in the C and C++ programming languages that is designed to perform a wide variety of aqueous geochemical calculations. PHREEQC implements several types of aqueous models: two ion-association aqueous models (the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory model and WATEQ4F), a Pitzer specific-ion-interaction aqueous model, and the SIT (Specific ion Interaction Theory) aqueous model. Using any of these aqueous models, PHREEQC has capabilities for (1) speciation and saturation-index calculations; (2) batch-reaction and one-dimensional (1D) transport calculations with reversible and irreversible reactions, which include aqueous, mineral, gas, solid-solution, surface-complexation, and ion-exchange equilibria, and specified mole transfers of reactants, kinetically controlled reactions, mixing of solutions, and pressure and temperature changes; and (3) inverse modeling, which finds sets of mineral and gas mole transfers that account for differences in composition between waters within specified compositional uncertainty limits.

Book CRC Handbook of Metal Etchants

Download or read book CRC Handbook of Metal Etchants written by Perrin Walker and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1990-12-11 with total page 1434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This publication presents cleaning and etching solutions, their applications, and results on inorganic materials. It is a comprehensive collection of etching and cleaning solutions in a single source. Chemical formulas are presented in one of three standard formats - general, electrolytic or ionized gas formats - to insure inclusion of all necessary operational data as shown in references that accompany each numbered formula. The book describes other applications of specific solutions, including their use on other metals or metallic compounds. Physical properties, association of natural and man-made minerals, and materials are shown in relationship to crystal structure, special processing techniques and solid state devices and assemblies fabricated. This publication also presents a number of organic materials which are widely used in handling and general processing...waxes, plastics, and lacquers for example. It is useful to individuals involved in study, development, and processing of metals and metallic compounds. It is invaluable for readers from the college level to industrial R & D and full-scale device fabrication, testing and sales. Scientific disciplines, work areas and individuals with great interest include: chemistry, physics, metallurgy, geology, solid state, ceramic and glass, research libraries, individuals dealing with chemical processing of inorganic materials, societies and schools.
