Book Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement

Download or read book Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement written by Nelson Pohlman and published by Nova Science Publishers. This book was released on 2014 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) is enjoying a renaissance across the United States and around the world. CRCP has the potential to provide a long-term, "zero-maintenance," service life under heavy traffic loadings and challenging environmental conditions, provided proper design and quality construction practices are utilised. This book provides an overview of the CRCP technology and the major developments that have led to what are referred to herein as the "best practices" for CRCP design and construction. The purpose of this book is to provide the best practices information on rehabilitation strategies for extending the service life of continuously reinforced concrete pavements (CRCP). The procedures described in this book consist of defining the problem, identifying potential solutions, and selecting the preferred alternatives.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report contains all of the papers presented at a workshop on Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavements (CRCP) which was held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The information presented at the workshop covered all aspects of CRCP including design, construction, and maintenance procedures. The primary emphasis was concentrated on maintenance procedures. The proceedings include papers on polymer patching, under sealing, and flexible and rigid overlays.

Book Repair of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement

Download or read book Repair of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement written by and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report details the results of an in-depth study of methods and costs of repairing failures in continuously reinforced concrete pavement. The study was conducted in 1977 by teams of Engineers from four States: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Similarities were revealed in the methods of repair used by maintenance personnel in the four States. Subtle differences were also discovered which can be considered for implementation by all of the participants and others to improve their maintenance techniques.

Book Failure and Repair of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement

Download or read book Failure and Repair of Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement written by National Research Council (U.S.). Transportation Research Board and published by Transportation Research Board National Research. This book was released on 1979 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The performance of CRCP has revealed a number of failure modes that are traceable to design, construction, materials, and maintenance deficiencies and such other factors as environemntal conditions and traffic loadings. This report of the Transportation Research Board includes a review of the cumulative experiences of state that have constructed and maintained CRCP. Guidelines for repair techniques are included, and areas of needed research are identified.

Book Computer based Guidelines for Concrete Pavements

Download or read book Computer based Guidelines for Concrete Pavements written by and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report documents enhancements incorporated in the (HIgh PERformance PAVing) HIPERPAV II software. Enhancements made within this project include the addition of two major modules: a module to predict the performance of jointed plain concrete pavement (JPCP) as affected by earlyage factors, and a module to predict the early-age behavior (first 72 hours) and early life (up to 1 year) of continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP). Two additional Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) studies were also incorporated: one that predicts dowel bearing stresses as a function of environmental loading during the early age, and a module for optimization of concrete paving mixes as a function of 3-day strength, 28-day strength, and cost. Additional functionality to the software was also incorporated by reviewing and prioritizing the feedback provided by users of the first generation of the software, HIPERPAV I.

Book LTPP Data Analysis

Download or read book LTPP Data Analysis written by Kathleen Theresa Hall and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Several important issues concerning the effect of slab support on concrete pavement performance were studied in a National Cooperative Highway Research Program project, "Support Under Concrete Pavements" (NCHRP 1-30). The results were promising, however, the data that were available for analysis were limited. This study was conducted to further field-verify and develop the improved support guidelines proposed in NCHRP 1-30, using the Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) database, in order to establish their practicality and appropriateness for use in concrete pavement design nationwide. This study was also conducted to further field-verify the proposed revised American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) performance model to the fullest extent possible using the design, materials, climate, traffic, and performance data available in the LTPP database for General Pavement Section 3 (GPS-3) (jointed plain concrete pavement), GPS-4 (jointed reinforced concrete pavement), and GPS-5 (continuously reinforced concrete pavement). Guidelines, revised on the basis of the results of this field verification study, are presented in the appendix in the form of a proposed addendum to the AASHTO Design Guide. The documentation of these field verification efforts using the LTPP database is provided in this report.
