Book Chaos And Complexity In Nonlinear Electronic Circuits

Download or read book Chaos And Complexity In Nonlinear Electronic Circuits written by Maciej J Ogorzalek and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1997-09-16 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The basic procedures for designing and analysing electronic systems are based largely on the assumptions of linear behavior of the system. Nonlinearities inherent in all real applications very often cause unexpected and even strange behavior. This book presents an electronic engineer's perspective on chaos and complex behavior. It starts from basic mathematical notions which enable understanding of the observed phenomena, and guides the reader through the methodology and tools used in the laboratory and numerical experiments to interpretation and explanation of basic mechanisms. On typical circuit examples, it shows how the theoretical and empirical developments can be used in practice. Attention is drawn to applications of chaotic circuits as noise generators and the possible use of synchronized chaotic systems in information transmission and encryption. Chaos control is considered as a new, emerging area where electronic equipment and chaos theory could turn vital in biomedical and engineering issues.

Book A Route to Chaos Using FPGAs

Download or read book A Route to Chaos Using FPGAs written by Bharathwaj Muthuswamy and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-06-18 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this introductory book is to couple the teaching of chaotic circuit and systems theory with the use of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). As such, it differs from other texts on chaos: first, it puts emphasis on combining theoretical methods, simulation tools and physical realization to help the reader gain an intuitive understanding of the properties of chaotic systems. Second, the "medium" used for physical realization is the FPGA. These devices are massively parallel architectures that can be configured to realize a variety of logic functions. Hence, FPGAs can be configured to emulate systems of differential equations. Nevertheless maximizing the capabilities of an FPGA requires the user to understand the underlying hardware and also FPGA design software. This is achieved by the third distinctive feature of this book: a lab component in each chapter. Here, readers are asked to experiment with computer simulations and FPGA designs, to further their understanding of concepts covered in the book. This text is intended for graduate students in science and engineering interested in exploring implementation of nonlinear dynamical (chaotic) systems on FPGAs.

Book Synchronization in Networks of Nonlinear Circuits

Download or read book Synchronization in Networks of Nonlinear Circuits written by Mattia Frasca and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-03-10 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses synchronization in networks of coupled systems. It illustrates the main aspects of the phenomenon through concise theoretical results and code, allowing readers to reproduce them and encouraging readers to pursue their own experimentation. The book begins by introducing the mathematical representation of nonlinear circuits and the code for their simulation. This is followed by a brief account of the concept of the complex network, which describes the main aspects of complex networks and the main model types, with a particular focus on the code used to study and reproduce the models. The focus then shifts to the process through which independent nonlinear circuits that follow different trajectories without coupling share some properties of their motion: synchronization. The authors present the main techniques for studying synchronization in complex networks, including the major measures, the stability properties and control techniques. The book then moves on to advanced topics in synchronization of complex networks by examining forms of synchronization in which not all the units share the same trajectory, namely chimera states, clustering synchronization, and relay and remote synchronization. Simple codes for experimentation with these topics and control methods are also provided. In closing, the book addresses the problem of synchronization in time-varying networks.

Book Inducing Robust Chaos in Electronic Circuits

Download or read book Inducing Robust Chaos in Electronic Circuits written by Aditya Rao and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using the principles of Chaos Theory, a novel scheme is presented to induce robust chaos into a perfectly running electronic circuit, a circuit whose parameters are both unknown and cannot be adjusted. To induce chaos we use a Phase Locked Loop (PLL) to inject resonant perturbations into the target system by tracking its frequency and phase. Robust chaos is achieved both by operating the PLL at the edge or just outside its lock range where it is shown to behave chaotically and also ensuring resonance. Here, by robust chaos, it is meant that the system remains in its chaotic state for a wider range of system parameters. This has a big advantage over the traditional schemes in the sense that even if the system parameters are varied real-time, this method still successfully induces chaos. Practical applications of chaos require the chaotic orbit to be robust. The advantages of using this technique to jam circuits and make them inoperable is that it consumes minimal power and the entire process is reversible. This makes the method viable for real life practical applications as a portable device especially in the military where it can be put to use as a jamming device.
