Book excerpt: As an adult, I have always collected proverbs from as far back as I can remember and I thought it was time to issue a book of my collection but with a twist. My book is titled, A Collection of Animal Inspired Diaspoa Proverbs and Social Commentary, Infused with Songs and Artists. Of course, the twist is that it requires readers to fill in the animal blanks by the countries/regions in the seven (7) continents. The trip down memory lane for me was less challenging than it could have been because I have a background in international business both in theory and in practice. I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in international business, I worked for 10 years in the import/export sector, and an institution with international students of whom I instructed students from Korea and the Philippines in Asia, South America, and the Caribbean. If you are well-traveled and know your geography, you will be in a good position to excel at this game! You might be curious as to why I focused the book on animal proverbs in the diaspora? My interest grew out of working on my 20-plus children's book series (publishing delayed due to the pandemic): Kids Play Animals are Everywhere (6-series comprising 18 books) and Kids Play Guess the Digital Animal (a 6-part series). Also, I always had an interest in proverbs as evidenced by my two proverb-inspired books honoring the Pioneers' Reggae Group for dedicating 50 years to the Jamaican music fraternity. The books are entitled: First Book of Proverbs and Social Commentary in and of the Songs and Second Book of Proverbs and Social Commentary in and of the Songs. In these two publications, not only do I expound on the Pioneers' songs embedded with proverbs, I also add related proverbs befitting the lyrical content. You can see how I managed to combine the two efforts into this one activity to confound your mind and get you going crazy in figuring out these puzzles. Enough of the chatter! Let's get this ball rolling and those blanks filling.
