Download or read book A Closer Look at God s Church written by Mark R. Jackson and published by Christian Insight Publications. This book was released on 2016-06 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Church of God Reformation Movement began in the early 1880s under the leadership of D. S. Warner and those who joined with him in search of a unified church. Their goal was simply to be God's holy people free from all denominational division. After more than 135 years of existence, this movement has grown so that it has congregations located around the world. Those affiliated with the Church of God have included well-known individuals such as Charles Schulz, the creator of Charlie Brown, and singers and songwriters Bill and Gloria Gaither. So what is the Church of God? What are its beliefs and have those beliefs changed since its inception? In this book, Mark Jackson examines ten key beliefs of the Church of God and evaluates them in light of Scripture. These beliefs are the authority of Scripture, salvation and church membership, the assurance of salvation, church ordinances, victory over sin, the work of the Holy Spirit, conditional security, divine healing, Christian unity, and the kingdom of God. Whether affiliated with the Church of God or not, this book offers to readers a clear and biblical presentation of beliefs that should be important to all Christians. "I only wish this book could have been available when I began pastoring. It would have helped me in pastoral preaching and in teaching new converts what the Bible teaches." -Arlo F. Newell, Editor-in-chief of Warner Press (1977-93) "The clarity and conciseness of this work will be an effective tool for pastors, teachers, and students of the word of God. In a day of numerous messages from media, this book presents for the person who is searching for answers to life's most important questions, a clear direction found in Jesus Christ." -Ronald V. Duncan, General Director of Church of God Ministries (2002-13)
Download or read book A Closer Look at ESTHER written by Kevin Mann and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-10-18 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The King James AV 1611 Holy Bible is God breathed, inerrant, supernatural, perfect, and superior to any other piece of literature ever written. There is not another book like it in the world! God has given us his word and words in the English which is the last universal world language just before the Second Coming of the great God and Savior Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has reemphasized this truth in my heart and mind countless times since being born again in April 1972. It is "The Scripture" and all other "per-versions" are Satan's attempt to pull the wool over the eyes of lazy sheep who will not "Study to shew themselves approved unto God..." (2Tim 2:15) nor will they "Search the scripture..." (John 5:39) but they have willfully fallen victim to the little g "god" of this world, Satan, who blinds the eyes of anyone he can, always bringing doubt and questions in the mind of people concerning the truthfulness and integrity of the word and words of God. Gen. 3:1 "Yea, hath God said...?" #6 Esther, The Queen, a type of the preserved Jewish remnant (Rev.11:13, 12:17.) who escapes the Anti-Christ (Haman) and is instrumental in preserving the lives of the Jewish people during what the Bible calls the time of Jacob's trouble (13 letters) (Jer.30:7) the great tribulation period (Mat.24:21,29 Rev.7:14) after the tribulation she becomes the bride of Jehovah God in the Millennium (Hos:2:14-23) and gains head of the nations status. Esther was protected by the King (God) and delivered from the total annihilation (during the tribulation) along with all the Jews. Esther was crowned in the seventh year of the King giving her a reign during the last seven years of the time frame that the book covers which is identical to the seven-year tribulation that she depicts. If our calendar were right, we would have just entered into the 7,000th year (7th day) of human history where the Tribulation and Second Advent of the Lord Jesus is to take place, but our calendar has been messed with in history by the Vatican so we do not know the exact year in which we live. But notice that the crowning of Esther AND the appearance of Haman (3:1) a type of the Antichrist takes place AFTER Vashti the Queen (type of the Church) is removed, raptured, from the scene. Esther's name appears 56 times in the book. She is given seven maidens (Gentile friends during the tribulation period) to assist her in the purification process.KEVIN MANN A Saved King James Bible Believing Baptist.

This is living by faith in future grace, which provides God's mercy, provision, and wisdom—everything we need—to accomplish his good plans for us. In Future Grace, chapter by chapter—one for each day of the month—Piper reveals how cherishing the promises of God helps break the power of persistent sin issues like anxiety, despondency, greed, lust, bitterness, impatience, pride, misplaced shame, and more. Ultimate joy, peace, and hope in life and death are found in a confident, continual awareness of the reality of future grace.

He is the subject of millions of statues, sculptures, devotional objects and works of art. Everyone can conjure an image of Jesus: usually as a handsome, white man with flowing locks and pristine linen robes. But what did Jesus really look like? Is our popular image of Jesus overly westernized and untrue to historical reality? This question continues to fascinate. Leading Christian Origins scholar Joan E. Taylor surveys the historical evidence, and the prevalent image of Jesus in art and culture, to suggest an entirely different vision of this most famous of men. He may even have had short hair.

Download or read book Seeing and Savoring Jesus Christ Revised Edition written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2004-10-27 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ-the divine Person revealed in the Bible-has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do his will, and you will see the truth of his Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.
Download or read book Saints written by Thomas Dubay and published by Servant Books. This book was released on 2007 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anyone can achieve a reasonable level of sanctity, but the saints are in a league of their own. What sets them apart? Does holiness come more naturally to them than to the rest of us? Do they endure severe temptation? How do grievous sinners become saints? How has history been influenced by the saints? Are the saints relevant today? What do they mean for you? In answering these questions and many more, Father Thomas Dubay not only reveals what makes the saints tick, but also nudges readers toward the heights of sanctity themselves. It's an uphill battle for everyone, but the lives of the saints make it clear that great holiness is possible for all if we allow ourselves, as they do, to fall radically in love with God.

Download or read book The Glory of God in the Face of Jesus Christ written by David K. Bernard and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2019-05-21 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is now a substantial scholarly consensus for the emergence of a high or divine Christology very early and from a Jewish context, but the questions of "how" and "why" need further study. Within the framework of traditional Jewish monotheism, Paul and other early Christians used the language of deity to describe Jesus. To investigate their view of Jesus, the author examines Paul's discourse in 2 Cor 3:16–4:6, employing insights from rhetorical criticism and Oneness Pentecostal Christology. He explains how early Christians proclaimed the deity of Jesus within their monotheistic Jewish context. He then identifies socio-rhetorical reasons for and practical consequences of the monotheistic deification of Jesus.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About 20 years ago, when I started taking my "walk" very seriously, having realized the gravity of the situation; I was bothered by the fact that so many different doctrines, dogmas, or "views" were being taught or preached from One Book "" The HOLY BIBLE. It seemed to me that One Book "" The inerrant word of God "" should have only one message. It seemed obvious that many "views" had to be in error. And that's what started me on this quest to find out for myself which views were right and which were wrong. I became, in effect, a "Berean"; one who makes sure "" by studying scripture "" that what is being preached is true or not. Of course there are several other "views" out there deserving of a closer look, but if you have any doubts about what is being preached in your church; do what I did. Take your own closer look
