Book Ceremonies for Real Life

Download or read book Ceremonies for Real Life written by Carine Fabius and published by Council Oak Books. This book was released on 2002-10 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Performing ceremonies makes me feel like I have a say in how my life turns out. It makes me feel like I have some form of control in how it all plays out. Taking part in a ceremony means I am asking for help. I put in my request, back it up with the power of my creative intention, and then I try to surrender to the weave already in progress. At least when I am clever, I surrender. Because how I get there or how quickly I arrive is best left in more experienced hands!

Book The Book of Ceremony

Download or read book The Book of Ceremony written by Sandra Ingerman, MA and published by Sounds True. This book was released on 2018-10-01 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We perform ceremonies to mark important events and celebrate holidays—yet our modern approach to ceremony only scratches the surface of its true potential. With The Book of Ceremony, shamanic teacher Sandra Ingerman presents a rich and practical resource for creating ceremonies filled with joy, purpose, and magic. "We are hungry to connect with more than what we experience with our ordinary senses in the material world," writes Sandra. "By performing ceremonies, you will find yourself stepping into a beautiful and creative power you might never have imagined." Weaving shamanic teachings together with stories, examples, and guiding insights, The Book of Ceremony explores: • The elements of a powerful ceremony—including setting strong intentions, choosing your space, preparing ceremonial items, and dealing gracefully with the unexpected • Stepping into the sacred—key practices for leaving behind your everyday concerns and creating a space where magic can happen • Guidance for working alone, in community, and across distances with virtual ceremonies • Invoking spiritual allies—the power of working with the elements, the natural world, ancestor spirits, and the creative energy of the divine • Sacred transitions—including ceremonies for weddings, births, rites of passage to adulthood, funerals, honorable closure, and new beginnings • Ceremonies for energetic balance—healing and blessing, resolving sacred contracts, getting rid of limiting beliefs, creating Prayer Trees, and more • Life as a ceremony—how to infuse your entire life with ceremonial practice, from planting a garden to revitalizing your home or office to helping heal our planet The Book of Ceremony is more than a "how-to" guide—it will inspire you to create original ceremonies tailored to your own needs and the needs of your community. When you invoke the sacred power of ceremony, you tap into one of the oldest and most effective tools for transforming both yourself and the world. As Sandra writes, "If you perform one powerful and successful ceremony for yourself, the principle of oneness ensures that all of life heals and evolves."

Thousands of interfaith couples struggle each year to create a meaningful and inclusive wedding ceremony that both respects and includes two sets of traditions and two families. This book contains the ingredients for a successful and meaningful interfaith wedding ceremony. This book will help interfaith couples to: decide what kind of wedding they want, learn about Jewish and Christian wedding traditions and choose which ones are meaningful to them, get inspiration and support from the ceremonies and reflections of other interfaith couples, review sample readings, musical selections, and vows, and plan and write a ceremony that expresses both partners' beliefs and values. An interfaith wedding ceremony can include two sets of traditions and reach out to both sets of parents. It can be a beautiful and meaningful event that participants and guests remember for a long, long time. And it can start out a marriage on a solid, well-built foundation. This book is the only national compendium of sample interfaith wedding ceremonies. As couples and officiants prepare for an interfaith wedding, they will refer to this resource again and again.

Book Creating Circles and Ceremonies

Download or read book Creating Circles and Ceremonies written by Oberon Zell-Ravenheart and published by Red Wheel/Weiser. This book was released on 2006-07-07 with total page 609 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Creating Circles and Ceremonies is the accumulation of decades of circles, ceremonies, rituals, Mystery plays, initiations, rites of passage, and other magickal workings co-created by the Zell-Ravenhearts, today's foremost Wizard/Witch couple. For more than 30 years, Oberon and Morning Glory have traveled widely throughout the worldwide magickal community--participating in gatherings, conducting workshops, and creating rituals for groups large and small. They have met and made Magick with the leaders of many traditions: Celtic Shamanism, British Dianic, Italian Strega, Welsh Witchcraft, Faerie Trad, Ceremonial Magick, Ozark Druidry, the New Reformed Order of the Golden Dawn (NROOGD), Hinduism, Native American tribes, Greek and Egyptian mythology, and the futuristic Church of All Worlds. Here, in one easy-to-read volume, is their collection of chants, invocations, circle-castings, quarter-callings, spells, and ceremonies. It is also a "kit" to use to assemble your own rituals, for any season or reason: Book I presents a basic ritual outline. Each element is followed by numerous examples which may be "plugged in" to customize your own ceremony. Book II gives numerous examples of actual ceremonies: Esbats (full Moons) and special occasions; Rites of Passage; Mysteries and Initiations; spells and consecrations. These can be adapted and modified as needed for any size group--from small family gatherings in your living room, to huge outdoor celebrations involving thousands of people. Book III provides an assortment of full rituals and ritual elements for celebrations of the eight great seasonal festivals called the Wheel of the Year. Versions of these have been commemorated for millennia in most traditional cultures of the Northern Hemisphere; and today are universal throughout the worldwide Pagan community.
