Book Estimating Vertical Dimensions with Cephalometric Analysis

Download or read book Estimating Vertical Dimensions with Cephalometric Analysis written by Ritu Batra and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a need to replace the lost teeth and the supporting structures for the patient's social demands and functional rehabilitation. Prosthetic treatment with complete dentures is a very common treatment modality; the biggest challenge in its fabrication is to duplicate the normal vertical dimension. Failure can be avoided by completing the treatment without changing the vertical dimension7 and obtaining an optimal facial proportion. There are many methods to record VD. Radiographic cephalometry has been used as a diagnostic tool in Prosthodontics for over five decades and numerous authors, like Ricketts (1981), McNamara (1984) and Slavicek (1984) developed and computerized these techniques to co-relate and record VD in patients. cephalometric analysis can help to visualize skeletal and facial proportion relation. This study aims to use the lateral radiographs with cephalometric analysis, as it could be a simple, non- technique sensitive, non-invasive and atraumatic way to determine VD for complete denture patients and also to compare physiologic methods (swallowing / phonetics) with cephalometric method to record lower facial height.

Book Orthodontics in the Vertical Dimension

Download or read book Orthodontics in the Vertical Dimension written by Thomas E. Southard and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2015-07-20 with total page 541 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This case-based clinical text is an exhaustive review of orthodontic problems in the vertical dimension and evidence-based guidelines for successful diagnosis and treatment. A total of 21 cases address dental deep bites, skeletal deep bites, dental open bites, skeletal open bites, and posterior open bites. Each case includes pre-treatment, interim, and post-treatment orthodontic records, as well as references to provide a solid evidence base for decision making. Written with a clinical focus, Orthodontics in the Vertical Dimension is ideal for the practicing orthodontist and makes an excellent resource for residents in pursuit of board certification.

Book Temporary Anchorage Devices in Clinical Orthodontics

Download or read book Temporary Anchorage Devices in Clinical Orthodontics written by Jae Hyun Park and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2020-04-21 with total page 816 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Provides the latest information on all aspects of using temporary anchorage devices in clinical orthodontics, from diagnosis and treatment planning to appliances and applications Written by some of the world’s leading experts in orthodontics, Temporary Anchorage Devices in Clinical Orthodontics is a comprehensive, up-to-date reference that covers all aspects of temporary anchorage device (TAD) use in contemporary orthodontics. Taking a real-world approach to the subject, it covers topics ranging from diagnosis and treatment planning to the many applications and management of complications. Case studies demonstrate the concepts, and high-quality clinical photographs support the text throughout. The book begins with an overview of clinical applications and fundamental principles of TADs. It then goes on to cover biomechanical considerations for controlling target tooth movement with TADs. Biomechanical simulations for various clinical scenarios treated with TADs are addressed next, followed by an examination of histological aspects during the healing process and anatomical considerations with TADs. Other chapters cover: Class II Correction with TADs, Distalization with TADs, TAD-anchored Maxillary Protraction, Maxillary Expansion with TADs, Anterior Open Bite Correction with TADs, TAD-assisted Aligner Therapy, TADs vs. Orthognathic Surgery; Legal Considerations When Using TADs; and much more. Provides evidence-based information on the use of TADs, with a focus on improving outcomes for patients Considers topics ranging from diagnosis and treatment planning to specific clinical applications and appliances Takes a real-world clinical approach, with case studies demonstrating concepts Written by international experts in the field Presents hundreds of high-quality clinical photographs to support the text Temporary Anchorage Devices in Clinical Orthodontics is an essential resource for orthodontists and orthodontic residents.

Book Cephalometric Evaluation of Craniofacial Proportions

Download or read book Cephalometric Evaluation of Craniofacial Proportions written by A. Sumathi Felicita and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-05 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes a method of cephalometric evaluation of the craniofacial complex. Although the cephalometric analysis is inspired by the counterpart principle of Enlow, certain parameters in the vertical evaluation of the craniofacial complex as described in this book are different and cannot be found in many books on cephalometrics or orthodontics. Also, several additional ratios have been established for sagittal evaluation. All the measurements in this book are expressed as ratios. The inclination of cranial base is the only angular measurement evaluated. The sagittal and vertical segments, the facial heights, the facial depth are some of the parameters described and measured in this book. The book also elaborates on the segments of the craniofacial complex that are in dimensional balance and those that are in imbalance.
