Book The Boy Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg In His Own Words

Download or read book The Boy Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg In His Own Words written by George and published by Agate Publishing. This book was released on 2012-11-19 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mark Zuckerberg, the youngest Person of the Year named by Time magazine since Charles Lindbergh in 1927, has grown in prominence as rapidly as the company he founded in a Harvard dorm room in 2004. The public's appetite for insight into Facebook and its founder seems nearly insatiable. Curiosity abounds regarding Zuckerberg's personality and management style, since fictional Hollywood portrayals and Wall Street whispers have painted a broad-strokes portrait of the young CEO that is at best only a fraction of the truth. Given Facebook's current $58 billion market capitalization and 845 million worldwide users, there is clearly more to Zuckerberg than any over-simplified caricature could convey. The Boy Billionaire: Mark Zuckerberg In His Own Words is the first and only book to detail the visionary thoughts and opinions of Facebook's founder entirely through direct quotations from Zuckerberg himself. It is the most intimate and most authoritative look at the man behind Facebook's once-a-generation success, the tech heir-apparent to Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Like those two pioneering entrepreneurs, Zuckerberg has proven to be a calculating and sometimes ruthless strategist with a steadfast commitment to his vision. Facebook exists somewhere between a social utility and a model of 21st century business, leading next-gen tech companies through an economic climate still scarred by the dot-com bubble of the early 2000s, but increasingly driven by the inevitability of a global marketplace built on social media technology. Facebook's potential is unknown, but the key to its success depends on Zuckerberg's own ideas and vision. This book serves up his most thought-provoking insights, as researched and chosen by George Beahm, the New York Times bestselling editor of I, Steve: Steve Jobs In His Own Words. The Boy Billionaire: Mark Zuckerberg In His Own Words provides crucial illumination of Zuckerberg and the company he's created, emphasizing insights, business strategies, and lessons learned. It is essential reading for people who seek innovative solutions applicable to their business, regardless of size, and makes an ideal gift or reference item for anyone interested in this newest of American business icon.

Book Nasha Bil Hoga He Who Walks Alone

Download or read book Nasha Bil Hoga He Who Walks Alone written by Mike Wyant and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-02-22 with total page 199 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An eleven-year-old Navajo boy is taken by force from his Arizona reservation home and bussed to Fort Sill Indian School near Lawton and Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1949. The U.S. law requires the Navajo children to attend school in a federally operated boarding school. The boy is treated roughly at his capture and on the bus trip. He vows to escape from the school and walk/run back the eight hundred miles back to his home, realizing he has no money and does not trust the white man. He is forced to rely on his survival skills. He makes several friends at the school. However, in the spring, he leaves at night and starts his journey home. The challenges he faces at the school and also his journey and how he overcomes those challenges are detailed. When he finally reaches his home area, he hears crying from several people and creeps through the sagebrush to see what is happening. The same government agents who seized him are trying to wrestle an eight-year-old girl from her mother and grandmother and put her on the bus. But while that happens, the boy slips unnoticed on to the bus and invites all the children to follow him, and he will hide and protect them until the agents have gone and stopped looking for them. Twenty-one of the children come with him, and he hikes for two days, covering his trails, until he reaches an old unknown cliff dwelling that he and his family had stayed at many times. It is well hidden. For close to a year, the children survive in the cliff dwelling, learning Indian skills from the boy and school skills from a twelve-year-old girl. Meanwhile, a large political battle takes place for many months, and finally, the law is changed so the Navajo children can stay on the reservation to learn the white mans ways and education. When all the papers have been signed by the Congress and the president, the childrens group is able to return home. A large dinner is planned by the tribal council for their return. At this dinner, the boy, Jeff White Cloud, has his name formally changed by the tribal leaders to Nasha Bi Hoga, He Who Walks Alone.

Book The Wonderful World of Charley Sparkle

Download or read book The Wonderful World of Charley Sparkle written by Judy Barnhart and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2006-02 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Wonderful World of Charley Sparkle is the story of two school friends, J.P. and Mark, who've found they have a lot in common. Each of them has a very special kitten at home-and their kitten often mysteriously disappears for days at a time. It's not until a pet parade is held in their classroom that J.P. begins to realize his kitten, Sparkle, is possibly leading a double life. When he attempts to solve this mystery, he makes a shocking discovery. How does he solve this problem? And what will it mean for his friendship with Mark? An early chapter book, The Wonderful World of Charley Sparkle will be of interest to early-grade teachers, counselors, or librarians who wish to use literature to introduce their students to real-life, problem-solving situations-or to young readers who simply enjoy a story about other children and their pets. The Wonderful World of Charley Sparkle was completed as a tribute to the illustrator, Connie Sherman, the granddaughter of author Judy Barnhart. Sherman wanted to illustrate a book for her grandmother, but she lost her life in a traffic accident before this could be accomplished. Barnhart gathered some of the many pictures Sherman had sent to her and adapted them for Charley Sparkle.
