Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I offer you a fresh and inspired non-fiction book and Bible study guide to the “Book of Revelation / Apocalypse”. This book will take you on a spiritual journey of understanding based on Jesus’ words in the Bible that is different from traditional interpretations of this end-time prophecy. It provides an excellent way to engage with God’s word to seek the truth. This book is based on the idea that Jesus has provided the information in the Gospels that would unlock the mysteries of Revelation. Mat 24:33-34 33 so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. 34 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. God gave us Revelation to show his followers “the things which must shortly take place”. Why shortly? Revelation is addressed to the end-times generation and it is only then that the revelation is to become fully revealed. Now is the time. As I guide you on this journey, I will show you the keys that will transform Revelation into an easily understood message from God. Amazingly, one key is that Revelation was written out of chronological order at God’s direction to seal it up until the end-times. This Revelation guide is filled with ideas and concepts that will keep your Bible study group engaged in “Spirited” discussion. In Chapter 9, "Are We the End-Time Generation?” I describe where we might be in biblical prophecy based on the reordered Revelation. I believe that the end-times have begun and that the baby boomer generation will see the end of it all. This makes understanding Revelation all the more important.

Book Slave

Download or read book Slave written by John F. MacArthur and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2012-11-05 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A COVER-UP OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS... Centuries ago, English translators perpetrated a fraud in the New Testament, and it’s been purposely hidden and covered up ever since. Your own Bible is probably included in the cover-up! In this book, which includes a study guide for personal or group use, John MacArthur unveils the essential and clarifying revelation that may be keeping you from a fulfilling—and correct—relationship with God. It’s powerful. It’s controversial. And with new eyes you’ll see the riches of your salvation in a radically new way. What does it mean to be a Christian the way Jesus defined it? MacArthur says it all boils down to one word: SLAVE “We have been bought with a price. We belong to Christ. We are His own possession.” Endorsements: "Dr. John MacArthur is never afraid to tell the truth and in this book he does just that. The Christian's great privilege is to be the slave of Christ. Dr. MacArthur makes it clear that this is one of the Bible's most succinct ways of describing our discipleship. This is a powerful exposition of Scripture, a convincing corrective to shallow Christianity, a masterful work of pastoral encouragement...a devotional classic." - Dr. R. Albert Mohler, President, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary "John MacArthur expertly and lucidly explains that Jesus frees us from bondage into a royal slavery that we might be His possession. Those who would be His children must, paradoxically, be willing to be His slaves." - Dr. R.C. Sproul "Dr. John MacArthur's teaching on 'slavery' resonates in the deepest recesses of my 'inner-man.' As an African-American pastor, I have been there. That is why the thought of someone writing about slavery as being a 'God-send' was the most ludicrous, unconscionable thing that I could have ever imagined...until I read this book. Now I see that becoming a slave is a biblical command, completely redefining the idea of freedom in Christ. I don't want to simply be a 'follower' or even just a 'servant'...but a 'slave'." - The Rev. Dr. Dallas H. Wilson, Jr., Vicar, St. John's Episcopal Chapel, Charleston, SC

Book Revelation God S Last Love Letter

Download or read book Revelation God S Last Love Letter written by Kenneth E. Nissen and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-04-16 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revelation is addressed to the churches in chapter one and for the churches in the last chapter. One would expect Gods last love letter to be a favorite book among Christians, but it isnt. It isnt because it isnt understood. This book has been highly received by numerous evangelical leaders and is used as the textbook on Revelation in Bible colleges as far away as Africa and India. From the first, I was taken with the desire of Ken to help people see that the book of Revelation was written primarily to help people in their walk with God in the midst of troubled times, and not as a text to figure out the sequence of the end times. This was also the first time I had seen the theme of overcoming given as the main thrust of Revelation. So, I had to read his manuscript to see if in fact he had come upon something I had missed. I am convinced that he has. I have found his book to be extremely helpful to see the desire of God to have his children to be overcomers, and the resources available to us to do just that as the end approaches. And the book is more than that, for it does not side-step the questions that are raised as one reads the book of Revelation. Stephen R. Bradley, Director of Field Education, Columbia Bible College. Columbia, South Carolina

Book John s Use of the Old Testament in Revelation

Download or read book John s Use of the Old Testament in Revelation written by Gregory K. Beale and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 1999-06-01 with total page 451 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the variety of ways John contextually uses the Old Testament in the Apocalypse. The introduction surveys and evaluates recent studies, which have been divided over the issue of whether or not John uses the Old Testament with sensitivity to its original literary context (Beale, Fekkes and Bauckham argue in the affirmative, while Ruiz and Moyise contend that this was not John's focus and see implications for 'reader-response criticism'). The remainder of the book looks at various ways in which John uses the Old Testament and argues that there is a reciprocal interpretative relationship between the Old Testament and the Apocalypse. Studies of special interest concern the bearing of the Old Testament on Revelation's eschatology, on the issue of the millennium, and on the thorny problem of the grammatical solecisms.

Book excerpt: G. K. Beale’s monumental New International Greek Testament Commentary volume on Revelation has been highly praised since its publication in 1999. This shorter commentary distills the superb grammatical analysis and exegesis from that tome (over 1,300 pages) into a book more accessible and pertinent to preachers, students, and general Christian readers. As in the original commentary, Beale views Revelation as an integrated whole, as a conscious continuation of the Old Testament prophetic books, and shows that recognizing Revelation’s nearly constant use of Old Testament allusions is key to unlocking its meaning. Interspersed throughout the volume are more than sixty sets of “Suggestions for Reflection” to help readers better grasp the relevance of Revelation to their lives and our world today.

Book The Pentateuch in the Progressive Revelations of God to Men

Download or read book The Pentateuch in the Progressive Revelations of God to Men written by Henry Cowles and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-12-01 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My reasons for treating the Pentateuch topically rather than textually will be obvious. Criticism on the original text is rarely needed. There is seldom the least occasion to aid the reader in following the line of thought or the course of argument. The demand here is rather for the discussion and due presentation of the great themes of the book. My plan has therefore aimed to meet this demand, discussing these themes critically so far as seemed necessary either because of their intrinsic nature or because of popular objections or misconceptions; and always practically so far forth as to show the important moral bearings of these themes as revelations of God to man. It has been, however, my purpose to explain all the difficult, doubtful, or controversial passages. ... from the Preface.

Many writings of the past speak of entering God's rest, the deeper walk, the life hid with Christ in God, or the victorious Christian life. Nonetheless, many, after studying the truths of The Exchanged Life, never experience it. Others have earnestly rededicated their lives to Christ numerous times, completely surrendered at every alter call, worked in ministry until they were totally disenchanted and pressed in until they were wore out, yet found the peace and joy the Bible speaks so freely of, an elusive dream. If self-effort, zeal, or diligence were the key, many would be experiencing abundant life, but they are not! God has a reality for you""on this earth""that few will ever taste. The Kingdom of God is at hand and is available for you to walk in now, in preparation for eternity. If you are drawn to the teachings of the patriarchs of the church age... Watchman Nee Jessie Penn-Lewis Andrew Murray Oswald Chambers Thomas a'Kempis Madame Guyon Major Ian Thomas T. Austin-Sparks ...then you will appreciate the depth of the mystery of the Gospel presented inside this volume. It is presented in a way all may understand and enter in. Our prayer for you is that Jesus Christ may be revealed in you, that this world may see Him, and that you may walk in the true freedom found only through His life, exchanged for yours.
