Book Integrated Waterflood Asset Management

Download or read book Integrated Waterflood Asset Management written by Ganesh C. Thakur and published by PennWell Books. This book was released on 1998 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Waterflooding is one of the most important methods of improving recovery from oil reservoirs. With the economic uncertainty of various enhanced oil recovery techniques (due to oil price instability) waterflooding optimization is more significant than ever. This book provides a thorough understanding of the practical approach to waterflood asset management. It uses multidisciplinary integrated teams and resource management practices to enhance hydrocarbon recovery and maximize profitability. Satter and Thakur are co-authors of PennWell Books' bestseller, Integrated Reservoir Management: A Team Approach. Readers Will Learn: the fundamentals of waterflood management and multidisciplinary technology; the team approach to management through real-life examples; and the integration of engineering, geology and geophysics with operations, research, economics, and legal/environmental processes for effective waterflood asset management.

Book Casing Design Theory and Practice

Download or read book Casing Design Theory and Practice written by S.S. Rahman and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1995-08-01 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Casing design has followed an evolutionary trend and most improvements have been made due to the advancement of technology. Contributions to the technology in casing design have come from fundamental research and field tests, which have made casing safe and economical. This book gathers together much available information in the subject area and shows how it may be used in deciding the best procedure for casing design i.e. optimizing casing design for deriving maximum profit from a particular well. The problems and their solutions, which are provided in each chapter, and the computer program (3.5 in. disk) are intended to serve two purposes:- firstly, as illustrations for students and practicing engineers to understand the subject matter, and secondly, to enable them to optimize casing design for a wide range of wells to be drilled in the future.

Book Quick Look Techniques for Prospect Evaluation

Download or read book Quick Look Techniques for Prospect Evaluation written by Daniel J. Tearpock and published by Subsurface Consultants & Associates, Incorporated. This book was released on 1994 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This new book covers numerous QUICK LOOK TECHNIQUES & Pitfalls in reviewing & evaluating geologic interpretations &, in particular, oil & gas prospects. The text concentrates on the application of a number of QUICK LOOK TECHNIQUES (QLTs) that can be used to provide an accurate & rapid evaluation about the quality of a prospect. The authors of the best seller "Applied Subsurface Geological Mapping" have once again teamed up & have been joined by Joe Brewton to write another masterful applied methodology textbook in the area of petroleum geology. Significant investment decisions are often made based on the prospects presented with geologic & geophysical support in the form of interpreted seismic sections, various maps including fault, structure & isochores, & cross sections. Where decisions are critical: Into which prospects do we place our investment dollars, the QUICK LOOK TECHNIQUES presented in this text can be powerful tools. "...essential for explorationists who know that accurate maps are the treasure maps to success." - John Lopez, Sr. Geologic Consultant, Amoco Production Co. "After taking the QLT Seminar, this book is the perfect complement for day-to-day hands-on application." - B.A. Berilgen, VP/Operations, Forest Oil Corp. "...invaluable to any person who must make decisions based on subsurface maps. I highly recommend this book." - Peyton M. Lake, President & CEO, Lake Ronel Oil Co. Order from Subsurface Consultants & Associates, Inc., 1720 Kaliste Saloom Rd. #B-1, Lafayette, LA 70508.

Book Process Equipment Design

Download or read book Process Equipment Design written by Lloyd E. Brownell and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1959-01-15 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A complete overview and considerations in process equipment design Handling and storage of large quantities of materials is crucial to the chemical engineering of a wide variety of products. Process Equipment Design explores in great detail the design and construction of the containers – or vessels – required to perform any given task within this field. The book provides an introduction to the factors that influence the design of vessels and the various types of vessels, which are typically classified according to their geometry. The text then delves into design and other considerations for the construction of each type of vessel, providing in the process a complete overview of process equipment design.

Download or read book Geothermal Resources written by R. Bowen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 495 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the Arab oil embargo of 1974, it has been clear that the days of almost limitless quantities of low-cost energy have passed. In addition, ever worsening pollution due to fossil fuel consumption, for instance oil and chemical spills, strip mining, sulphur emission and accumulation of solid wastes, has, among other things, led to an increase of as much as 10% in the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere in this century. This has induced a warming trend through the 'greenhouse effect' which prevents infrared radiation from leaving it. Many people think the average planetary temperatures may rise by 4°C or so by 2050. This is probably true since Antarctic ice cores evidence indicates that, over the last 160000 years, ice ages coincided with reduced levels of carbon dioxide and warmer interglacial episodes with increased levels of the gas in the atmosphere. Consequently, such an elevation of temperature over such a relatively short span of time would have catastrophic results in terms of rising sea level and associated flooding of vast tracts of low-lying lands. Reducing the burning of fossil fuels makes sense on both economic and environmental grounds. One of the most attractive alternatives is geothermal resources, especially in developing countries, for instance in El Salvador where geothermal energy provides about a fifth of total installed electrical power already. In fact, by the middle 1980s, at least 121 geothermal power plants were operating worldwide, most being of the dry steam type.
