Book excerpt: Sobre el tema de la relación familia-escuela en educación infantil se plantea una aproximación y comprensión de esta relación desde la mirada y las voces de los niños y niñas. Para ello, se elabora una fundamentación teórica considerando los diferentes núcleos temáticos, infancia, institución de educación infantil y familia, desde una perspectiva social, histórica y cultural. Se diseña también una metodología de investigación de tipo etnográfico, que gira en torno a una estrategia metodológica para investigar con niños y niñas: los espacios de narrativa. A partir de esa base teórica y metodológica, se diseña y desarrolla un estudio empírico en un centro de educación infantil de Itajaí /SC, Brasil, donde se realizan a lo largo de varios meses numerosos espacios de narrativa con las niñas y niños de 3 a 6 años de edad, para escuchar sus diálogos y construir, a través de ellos, una versión de la relación familia-escuela desde la mirada y las voces de los niños y niñas, habitualmente los silenciosos de la historia. Con todo lo revelado en los espacios de narrativa, con las ideas expuestas en el marco teórico y las reflexiones de quien investiga, se construye un relato interpretativo, dando significado a toda esa información, aportando posibilidades y claves de aprendizaje y mejora para los miembros de la comunidad educativa, para el conocimiento de la relación escuela-familia en educación infantil y para el reconocimiento y escucha de los niños y niñas como sujetos con capacidad y derecho de participación, desde su especificidad, en aquello que les atañe en el ámbito educativo. En el proceso de análisis e interpretación realizado sobre los diálogos de los espacios de narrativa, a partir de las relevantes aportaciones de los niños y niñas y teniendo en cuenta otras informaciones proporcionadas por docentes o familiares, obtuvimos tres grandes dimensiones sobre la relación familia-escuela: 1a- La comunicación, acción y transformación: a través de la comunicación, de las acciones educativas y de procesos de transformación, la relación entre estas familias y la escuela desarrolla importantes funciones en el proceso educativo, escolar y familiar, contribuyendo al mejor desarrollo de los niños y niñas en su proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje y en su proceso de constituirse como sujetos capaces, presentes y reconocidos, ciudadanos plenos, y contribuyendo a la calidad y mejora del proceso educativo y a la participación de todos los implicados construyendo una cultura compartida. 2a Dialogo igualitario y distribución del poder/ autoridad: detectamos la importancia del dialogo igualitario, entendido como aquellas interacciones en las que se respetan las contribuciones y aportaciones de todos y en las que no hay una relación desigual de poder, sino de comprensión, adaptación y democratización en la institución educativa, que constatamos en la participación desde la horizontalidad y desde la igualdad de capacidades y derechos de todos los miembros de la comunidad. 3a La familia ampliada: desde la mirada de los niños y niñas, la relación familia escuela no sólo se refiere a padres/madres y docentes, sino que comprende a otros muchos miembros más, a todos aquellos que tienen un vínculo afectivo y forman parte de su vida del hogar, como los hermanos y hermanas, la abuela y el abuelo, otras personas significativas que en realidad no son estrictamente de la familia, sus animales de compañía y hasta algunos personajes ficticios. Esa particular noción de familia aporta con una versión renovada y fortalecida de la relación entre las familias y la escuela, aumentando efectivamente las posibilidades de imaginar múltiples formas de interrelación, de acción, colaboración, de concretización y construcción de una cultura compartida entre familia y escuela, y ampliando igualmente los espacios y tiempos en los que esa relación tiene y puede tener lugar. Además, se proporcionan en las conclusiones un conjunto de claves para favorecer y potenciar la relación familia-escuela en educación infantil, extraídas de los análisis e interpretaciones sobre los espacios de narrativa, y se indican al final de la tesis, algunas líneas posibles de investigación futura.
