Book Wrestling with Alligators Prophets and Theologians

Download or read book Wrestling with Alligators Prophets and Theologians written by C. Peter Wagner and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the past half-century, C. Peter Wagner has been at the leading edge of the key spiritual paradigm shifts that have been accompanied by major moves of the Holy Spirit. In the 1960s the missionary movement in South America was at its peak--and Dr. Wagner was there. In the 1970s he was a recognized authority in the church-growth movement. In the 1980s he taught a popular course at Fuller Seminary with Vineyard movement leader John Wimber that advocated praying healing for the sick, spiritual mapping, identificational repentance and spiritual warfare. Dr. Wagner coined the phrase Third Wave to describe this fresh move of the Holy Spirit--the impact of which is still being felt today. In the 1990s he became a leader of the New Apostolic Reformation, and in the new millennium he has championed the Dominion Mandate, adopting the Seven Mountain (or 7M) template for reclaiming the culture for God's kingdom. For five decades, Dr. Wagner has led the church from one great move of God to the next, riding the wave of the Spirit through changes he never imagined when he first answered God's call to ministry. In Wrestling with Alligators, Prophets, and Theologians, Wagner tells, for the first time, his personal story of ongoing transformation. Readers will get a close-up view of the seismic shifts in the church's recent history, through the eyes of one of the only people to have seen it all unfold.

Book The Future War of the Church

Download or read book The Future War of the Church written by Chuck D. Pierce and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2007-09-04 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Future War of the Church, Chuck Pierce and Rebecca Wagner Sytsema shared a vision from God. They showed lay people, intercessors, and church leaders how to advance God's kingdom and use worship, prayer, and spiritual warfare to overcome the lawlessness and violence in our society and the world during the seven-year season of war from 2001 to 2008. Readers will not want to miss this revised and updated edition with a brief historical background at the beginning of each chapter, which offers an update on the prophetic words from 2001 and what came to pass. The authors urge readers to press on as the Lord is still calling His people to come against works of darkness with boldness and power from on high. "No demonic force, including lawlessness, will be able to stand against a fully functioning Body of Christ. Operating properly in the gifts will lead us back to love where we can work together according to the heart of God."

Book Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit

Download or read book Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit written by Brad Long and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2009-12-01 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is something crucial missing from your congregation's programs? Beneath the surface of churches' programs and activities lies the fundamental question of how leaders and churches can be enabled to discern and obediently cooperate with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This biblically grounded book asserts that many leaders overlook the necessary precondition of cooperating with the empowering will of the Holy Spirit before putting their plans into action. Growing the Church in the Power of the Holy Spirit is a highly practical guide for nurturing relations between believers and the Holy Spirit, a process facilitated by seven dynamics: Love that draws us into engagement Faith and obedience Receiving divine guidance Exercising spiritual discernment Welcoming the gifts and manifestations of the Holy Spirit Intercessory prayer that shapes the future Seeing and responding to kairos moments Advanced by the church leadership and brought into being by the Holy Spirit, these factors help congregations preach and teach, worship, heal, govern, make disciples of converts, and evangelize.

This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 723 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The home-study seminary program is designed to help you strengthen your understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ and apply its teachings in your daily life through a study of the scriptures. For your study this school year, you will first complete reading assignments from the scripture text for this course—the Book of Mormon—and then you will complete the individual lessons. Once a week you will meet with a seminary teacher to submit your work and participate in a weekly lesson. Seminary is a daily religious education program. Prayerfully studying your scriptures should be a daily practice. You will need to work on your seminary assignments each school day, even though you will not attend a seminary class each day. There are 32 units to be completed during the course. The reading chart on page viii shows what you should study for each unit. Your teacher will help you understand when each unit is due. The lessons in this study guide should each take about 30 minutes to complete, in addition to your daily scripture study. You should have two scripture study journals (or two notebooks), separate from your personal journal, in which you will write the assignments from the study guide activities. Each week that you meet with your teacher, you should turn in the scripture study journal containing the completed assignments from the study guide activities you completed for that week. Your teacher will read and respond to the assignments and return that scripture study journal to you the following week. You could also write your responses on paper in a loose-leaf binder and turn in the pages you did that week. Then, when your teacher returns the pages, you could put them back into the notebook."

Book Seven Key Principles for Effective Ministry

Download or read book Seven Key Principles for Effective Ministry written by David Harrell and published by Shepherd Press. This book was released on 2019-08-12 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A book that exhorts and encourages Christian ministers and leaders to be committed to the principled model for successful ministry that God has established through the teaching of the New Testament. Many people today think the most effective means to reach this postmodern world for Christ is for the church to become more attractive and relevant to the culture. It must reinvent itself, adjust its gospel message, be less dogmatic, more therapeutic, tolerant, and entertaining. It must pander to the culture, take up its social causes, even conform to itƒ‚‚"ƒ‚‚€ƒ‚‚"but never oppose it. Yet such a position is totally foreign to Scripture and therefore mitigates the power and blessing of God. With clarity and conviction, Dave Harrell guides readers through the priorities of a biblically focused ministry paradigmƒ‚‚"ƒ‚‚€ƒ‚‚"a paradigm that transcends the vagaries of modern cultureƒ‚‚"ƒ‚‚€ƒ‚‚"that may be applied with confidence by ministers and Christian leaders alike.

Book 10 Power Principles for Christian Service

Download or read book 10 Power Principles for Christian Service written by Warren W. Wiersbe and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2010-07-01 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a church culture that is rapidly losing its unique, intergenerational make-up in favor of small groups and even entire churches designed to target specific age groups, it can be difficult for ministers to relate to those who are not in their own demographic. But Warren and David Wiersbe, representing two generations, believe that generational differences should not keep ministers from relating to their congregations. In this thoughtful and practical book, they offer ten principles for Christian service that always work, at all times and in all places, inviting ministers to get back to the basics of serving others. New and seasoned pastors alike will find this a welcome source of inspiration and instruction on how they can relate and minister to people of all ages.

Download or read book The Church in the Workplace written by C. Peter Wagner and published by Gospel Light Publications. This book was released on 2006-05-20 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If Christians are in the workplace, then so is the church. In The Church In The Workplace, C. Peter Wagner explores how the role of the church in the work life of believers is just as much a ministry, a service to God and even worship, as what believers do on Sunday in their local churches. A further indispensable step toward activating faith at work is to understand clearly how the extended church operates through the nuclear church and how bridges can be built to join the two. Wagner does just this as he looks at the biblical perspective on work, the Holy Spirit's call to the church to bring about social transformation and worldwide examples of the role the church has already played in the workplace.

He was the driving force behind the school's transformation into a thriving institution with an international reputation characterized by a passionate conviction for truth. In the process he became one of the most important and prominent Christian voices in contemporary culture. What will it take to transform your leadership? Leadership like this requires passionate beliefs that can stand up to pressure from without and within. In this updated edition Dr. Mohler has added a new introduction and conclusion based on an additional 10 years of leadership. He has also completely rewritten the chapter "The Digital Leader." The Conviction to Lead will crystallize your convictions while revolutionizing your thinking, your decision-making, your communication, and ultimately, those you lead. Book American Catholic Leadership

Download or read book American Catholic Leadership written by James H. Stewart and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2019-10-01 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series Religion and Society (RS) contributes to the exploration of religions as social systems – both in Western and non-Western societies; in particular, it examines religions in their differentiation from, and intersection with, other cultural systems, such as art, economy, law and politics. Due attention is given to paradigmatic case or comparative studies that exhibit a clear theoretical orientation with the empirical and historical data of religion and such aspects of religion as ritual, the religious imagination, constructions of tradition, iconography, or media. In addition, the formation of religious communities, their construction of identity, and their relation to society and the wider public are key issues of this series.
