Book 50 Reasons Why You Are Extraordinary

Download or read book 50 Reasons Why You Are Extraordinary written by Valorie Maya and published by Balboa Press. This book was released on 2016-06-20 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is not an ordinary story - its a piece from Valories life that changed her vision for her future and her understanding of the animal world. Like a powerful heart activation it is still working on her. Valorie hopes that sharing the books message will benefit others in the same way. It took a Buddha dog a life time and a half to get the message through to Valorie that she is an extraordinary person living on a beautiful, loving planet in a time of exciting vibratory growth. It started out as an exercise meant to wake Valorie up, and now its a gift for those who need a wake up call of their own, whether they live with a companion animal or not. It will definitely make you think about what your pets are really doing with you. The planetary vibration is shifting into higher frequencies - we are moving forward to change our DNA and improve as human beings. To do this its important to remember who we are and how to appreciate, understand, and be kind to ourselves, because this is how we open our hearts to grow with our Mother Earth. Dont let another day go by without opening your heart to the realization that you are extraordinary, too.

Book Extraordinary Ordinary People

Download or read book Extraordinary Ordinary People written by Condoleezza Rice and published by Crown. This book was released on 2011-10-11 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of Condoleezza Rice that has never been told, not that of an ultra-accomplished world leader, but of a little girl--and a young woman--trying to find her place in a sometimes hostile world, of two exceptional parents, and an extended family and community that made all the difference. Condoleezza Rice has excelled as a diplomat, political scientist, and concert pianist. Her achievements run the gamut from helping to oversee the collapse of communism in Europe and the decline of the Soviet Union, to working to protect the country in the aftermath of 9-11, to becoming only the second woman--and the first black woman ever--to serve as Secretary of State. But until she was 25 she never learned to swim, because when she was a little girl in Birmingham, Alabama, Commissioner of Public Safety Bull Connor decided he'd rather shut down the city's pools than give black citizens access. Throughout the 1950's, Birmingham's black middle class largely succeeded in insulating their children from the most corrosive effects of racism, providing multiple support systems to ensure the next generation would live better than the last. But by 1963, Birmingham had become an environment where blacks were expected to keep their head down and do what they were told--or face violent consequences. That spring two bombs exploded in Rice’s neighborhood amid a series of chilling Klu Klux Klan attacks. Months later, four young girls lost their lives in a particularly vicious bombing. So how was Rice able to achieve what she ultimately did? Her father, John, a minister and educator, instilled a love of sports and politics. Her mother, a teacher, developed Condoleezza’s passion for piano and exposed her to the fine arts. From both, Rice learned the value of faith in the face of hardship and the importance of giving back to the community. Her parents’ fierce unwillingness to set limits propelled her to the venerable halls of Stanford University, where she quickly rose through the ranks to become the university’s second-in-command. An expert in Soviet and Eastern European Affairs, she played a leading role in U.S. policy as the Iron Curtain fell and the Soviet Union disintegrated. Less than a decade later, at the apex of the hotly contested 2000 presidential election, she received the exciting news--just shortly before her father’s death--that she would go on to the White House as the first female National Security Advisor. As comfortable describing lighthearted family moments as she is recalling the poignancy of her mother’s cancer battle and the heady challenge of going toe-to-toe with Soviet leaders, Rice holds nothing back in this remarkably candid telling.

Book Special Kids for Special Treatment Or How Special Do You Need to be to Find Yourself in a Special School

Download or read book Special Kids for Special Treatment Or How Special Do You Need to be to Find Yourself in a Special School written by Helen Phtiaka and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 1997 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The decision to transfer a pupil from mainstream to special education can have a profound effect on the child's life. This text exposes the often arbitrary way in which such a decision is made. The author reveals that transferral may reflect factors such as teacher and school tolerance rather than pupil behaviour. Such findings question the whole transfer process and even the logic of separate schooling for pupils considered by some to be a problem, and a need is stressed for educational changes that will make school relevant to pupils' lives. A comparison is made of deviant pupils from a mainstream school with deviant pupils in a special unit and a historical account of the development of special education is provided.

This book was released on 2005-02 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is the author's belief that, while almost everyone has heard of E=mc2, very few people really know much about it. In this book the author attempts to steer a middle course, explaining the subject as fully as possible yet keeping it easy-to-understand.

Book You re Not Special

Download or read book You re Not Special written by Meghan Rienks and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2021-09-28 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In her first ever (sort of) memoir, YouTube sensation Meghan Rienks gets personal about everything from drunken debaucheries to mental health. As an only child, Meghan has always been pretty good at entertaining herself. Then one day--cue the dramatic voice-over--her life changed forever. On June 12, 2010, Meghan was diagnosed with mononucleosis. Mono is basically just a really bad case of the flu, right? Wrong. To a party-crazed sixteen-year-old, mono is nothing less than social suicide. So Meghan opened up her 2009 MacBook and recorded her first YouTube video. Since then, she has shared the ups and downs of her life on the internet, documenting her coming-of-age for the whole world to see. Not that she's (mostly) through her awkward stage, Meghan's her to tell you that it gets better. Sometimes a bad hair day feels worse than a punch in the gut and asking a boy out seems as difficult as achieving that perfect dewy glow. But despite what you've been told, your problems are not unique, and somebody out there has felt the same way you feel right at this very moment. You're not special. But on the bumpy road to adulthood, you're also not alone.

Download or read book Hyperbole and a Half written by Allie Brosh and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2013-10-29 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: #1 New York Times Bestseller “Funny and smart as hell” (Bill Gates), Allie Brosh’s Hyperbole and a Half showcases her unique voice, leaping wit, and her ability to capture complex emotions with deceptively simple illustrations. FROM THE PUBLISHER: Every time Allie Brosh posts something new on her hugely popular blog Hyperbole and a Half the internet rejoices. This full-color, beautifully illustrated edition features more than fifty percent new content, with ten never-before-seen essays and one wholly revised and expanded piece as well as classics from the website like, “The God of Cake,” “Dogs Don’t Understand Basic Concepts Like Moving,” and her astonishing, “Adventures in Depression,” and “Depression Part Two,” which have been hailed as some of the most insightful meditations on the disease ever written. Brosh’s debut marks the launch of a major new American humorist who will surely make even the biggest scrooge or snob laugh. We dare you not to. FROM THE AUTHOR: This is a book I wrote. Because I wrote it, I had to figure out what to put on the back cover to explain what it is. I tried to write a long, third-person summary that would imply how great the book is and also sound vaguely authoritative—like maybe someone who isn’t me wrote it—but I soon discovered that I’m not sneaky enough to pull it off convincingly. So I decided to just make a list of things that are in the book: Pictures Words Stories about things that happened to me Stories about things that happened to other people because of me Eight billion dollars* Stories about dogs The secret to eternal happiness* *These are lies. Perhaps I have underestimated my sneakiness!
