Download or read book Natural The Beautiful N Word written by Richard Jones and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2007-02 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Natural . The Beautiful 'N' Word Breaking the Psychological Bondage of the American Standard of Beauty The American standard of beauty is an optical illusion that has mesmerized the world. Artificial hair, and makeup in the hands of a beautician is equivalent to a deck of cards, a top hat and a magic wand in the hands of a magician. The multibillion-dollar beauty industry has successfully proven that the hand is quicker than the eye. Hypnotically, the public applauds the deception. Most women-even some little girls-are addictive users of the hair and cosmetic charade; yet, few know its history. Most women were convinced in childhood by subliminal messages in the media that their natural hair and facial features were substandard. Ultimately, acquiring the acceptance and applause from a well-trained public became a subconscious ritual. No civilized race or nationality is exempt. This book exposes secrets and facts about the American standard of beauty rarely revealed, such as: The untold truth about artificial hair Why natural beauty is heavily discouraged The cosmetic conspiracy A totally natural method of growing nappy hair What are Sisterlocks and who is its creator
Download or read book The Amazing Foot Race of 1921 written by Shirley Jean Roll Tucker and published by Heritage House Publishing Co. This book was released on 2011 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: READ ALL ABOUT IT: Hikers to Walk From East Coast to Vancouver This adventure tale celebrates five Canadians who hiked from Halifax to Vancouver in 1921. For a nation struggling with post-war inflation, labour unrest and unemployment, the 3,645-mile hike was a welcome distraction. Daily reports from the competitors, who followed the CPR tracks, ran in the Halifax Herald and in other newspapers, and it wasn`t long before the entire nation had was caught up in the daily drama of the five hikers. They drew big crowds wherever they settled for the night or shared a meal with locals. Bands played. Crowds cheered. People placed their bets. By the time they were done, all five competitors had turned Canada "walking crazy." Shirley Jean Roll Tucker's lively account of this largely forgotten Canadian sporting event uses the vernacular of the day, with newspaper accounts and the hikers' own words.
Download or read book Undaunted Curiosity written by Douglas W. Ayres and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-03-12 with total page 620 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an adventure book. But an adventure without either fright or special effects. An adventure which took 10 years, which a couple and their dog(s) enjoyed immensely. This book is the recounting of the cruise of a lifetime. It tells the adventures, life lessons and beauty of the first half of a voyage of 26,000 miles by water, all within the territorial waters of America - the United States and Canada. The journey was predominately within inland waterways, but covered most of all four North American "coasts" as well. The book is entertaining and instructional. Entertaining by providing fascinating, interesting scenic and historical highlights, and "boater tales" gleaned from 10 years of literally almost circumnavigating North America by traversing the vast majority of its navigable waterways and coasts. Instructional to those interested in travel and boating. And informational, relating how to buy and equip a boat, and to plan and execute cruises, both major and minor. Tidbits of information are inserted where intersecting with the entertaining, providing responses to "situations" encountered, enlightening, significant, and humorous. The "tales" range from amusing to hilarious, but they too provide information and instruction useful to those interested in boating and sightseeing cruising by boat. One goal of this book is to illustrate how relaxing, enjoyable, educational and magnificently scenic and satisfying boat travel is within North America. This book relates a literal voyage thru history - the history of two nations and their first and formative transportation system - coasts, rivers and lakes, and some really old canals. This saga encompasses four boats, thousands of gallons of fuel, hundreds of stops, and the water covered over 10 years at the ideal sightseeing speed of 10 miles per hour. In other words, utilizing the waterways of North America to see what's there, in historic and scenic depth - out of pure Undaunted Curiosity.

Download or read book The Perfect Religion written by Phillip Cimei and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-07-26 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Murder, adultery, divorce, lying, revenge, and self-centered, loveless actions have a fuse. What is the flame that will light that fuse? Have the traditions formed through the misinterpretation of God's word blinded man from the truth and from the fire that will ignite these unrighteous acts? The writer's first book, The Perfect Religion: A Beacon to the True Kingdom of God, prepared the heart for entrance into the Kingdom of God. By becoming pure in heart, one loses sight of Me and starts thinking of Thee (God). By putting on humility, meekness, and having a pure and forgiving heart, the child of God will then hunger and thirst after God's righteousness. Jesus said that one's righteousness must exceed the righteousness of those that were introducing these blinding traditions. This book will elaborate on Christ's teachings that expose those stained traditions. And hopefully, carry the reader across that bridge to the snow-white truth-thereby leaving only the good traditions approved by God. There are good traditions, as stated by Paul: "Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you" (1 Corinthians 11:2, emphasis mine). And where did Paul receive the things he taught? "For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you" (1 Corinthians 11:23). May God open our hearts to be able to distinguish between the good and the bad, truth and tradition.
