Book excerpt: The great prophecies contained in the Olivet Discourse were uttered by the Lord prior to His crucifixion on Calvary. As He sat on the Mount of Olives, where in the future His feet shall stand in the day of His manifestation, He prophesied concerning the destruction of the magnificent temple building, and His disciples questioned Him, saying, "'Tell us when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of Thy coming and of the end of the age?" (Matt. 24:3, R. V., margin). In answer to their questions, the Lord, looking through the years to the consummation of the age, pointed out certain unmistakable signs by which believers were to know when the age was drawing to a close. He saw kingdom rising against kingdom, and nation against nation. He heard the sound of war and rumors of war. He saw pestilence and earthquake, Bolshevism, Communism, anarchy, lawlessness. He saw a time of trouble, the like of which has not yet been known, a time which He called "the great tribulation." He spoke plainly concerning these matters in order that the believers in every age might be fully instructed. Among these conditions and events the Lord warned His disciples concerning the religious conditions that would prevail in the end time. "False Christs, and false prophets, shall arise," He declared. So great will be their delusions at that time that "if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." The Holy Spirit, coming on the day of Pentecost, heralded through Paul, Peter, James, and John, and the other inspired writers, the same warning, making it known that toward the end of the age the great foundational truths of the gospel will be denied. The word "Denial" will characterize the religious condition of Christendom when those closing days become reality. The days in which you and I are living are days in which Christians need to know their Bibles, for the only way by which we may know whether or not a system of teaching is of God is by viewing the system through the lens of Holy Writ--reading the system in the light of the Bible and not reading the Bible in the light of the system. Because of the crying need of Biblical light on these erroneous teachings, I gave a series of addresses in the Church of the Open Door, on "The Cult Kingdom," selecting ten of the most damaging heresies for discussion. When people saw them revealed in the searchlight of God's Word a large number of men and women, held in their grip, were mercifully delivered. This created a wide-spread interest among God's children, culminating in a demand for the printing of these addresses so that others, caught in the meshes of false doctrine, might also find freedom. I was about to comply with this request when I discovered a book compiled by William C. Irvine, called "HERESIES EXPOSED." This book completely covers not only the ten cults I exposed, but many others, so instead of publishing my addresses I have arranged with the writer to allow me to print this special edition of his excellent work. By so doing we meet the demand of friends for this material and provide my radio audience with another valuable book.

The purpose of this book is to provide a means for those who may be enslaved by unbiblical points of Christian doctrine that depict God as a capricious, inconsistent, despot in His dealings with mankind (despite their protests to the contrary) to consider another point of view that is backed by scripture – not just the systematic theology or dogma of a respected theologian, bible teacher, or pastor. It is also designed to help those who believe differently from the "orthodox" thinking on such issues as predestination, original sin, eternal security, and "speaking in tongues," to be affirmed in their belief and to be armed anew with reasons for the convictions of their beliefs. Some quotes from the book... "A true Christian will jealously protect the true nature and will of God as He reveals Himself to us through His Word and through His Holy Spirit. Even apparently slight distortions of the Law, the Prophets, or the Gospel (the proclamation that the Law and the Prophets are fulfilled in the birth, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus the Christ) result in removing those who believe those distortions 'unto another gospel.'" "We have observed already in Scripture that God "...desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth" (I Timothy 2:4). As Scripture, reason, and direct experience show us, it is our own selfish pursuit of having things our own way that shuts us away from God's salvation not His will or predetermination of our eternal condition."

One example of this would be what is known as the "Born Again" doctrine. This doctrine has been used to accept anyone who comes forward during an alter call into the family of God. However, is this what Scripture teaches as the true doctrine of Christ? No.Scripture states that only one man had to be born again. That man was Christ. Unfortunately, when people read Scripture, they fail to see that the singular is used when Christ explains His true doctrine to Nicodemus. He plainly states that "A Man" (speaking of Himself) must be born again in order for Nicodemus to see (not enter into) the Kingdom of Heaven. Thus any who would be born again were born again the same instant Christ was born again when He rose from the dead. They cannot be born again during their physical lifetime here on earth. They were already born again through Christ when He resurrected. Therefore, they were chosen before they were even born. This proves that God does the choosing and men cannot choose to be saved. God chose and caused to be born again those whom He wanted as His children before they were even born as Christ resurrected.This and many other subjects are tackled in this book. Many seemingly harmless doctrines have invaded the Church. Yet when viewed from a Scriptural point of view, we see that indeed it makes a tremendous difference what a person believes is the sound doctrine taught by Christ. Yeshua was very specific as to whom He was speaking. When He used the singular, He was speaking of one person. It is only when He used the plural that He was speaking to men in general. Therefore, much of what is used to guide Christian today, was not meant for them at all, and was rather speaking of Christ or someone in Scripture particularly. Careful examination disproves many accepted doctrines within the Church today. Let's take a closer look at the doctrines Christ taught together and maybe, just maybe, the light will begin to shine upon you in truth.,
