Download or read book 3D Surface Reconstruction written by Francesco Bellocchio and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-10-28 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 3D Surface Reconstruction: Multi-Scale Hierarchical Approaches presents methods to model 3D objects in an incremental way so as to capture more finer details at each step. The configuration of the model parameters, the rationale and solutions are described and discussed in detail so the reader has a strong understanding of the methodology. Modeling starts from data captured by 3D digitizers and makes the process even more clear and engaging. Innovative approaches, based on two popular machine learning paradigms, namely Radial Basis Functions and the Support Vector Machines, are also introduced. These paradigms are innovatively extended to a multi-scale incremental structure, based on a hierarchical scheme. The resulting approaches allow readers to achieve high accuracy with limited computational complexity, and makes the approaches appropriate for online, real-time operation. Applications can be found in any domain in which regression is required. 3D Surface Reconstruction: Multi-Scale Hierarchical Approaches is designed as a secondary text book or reference for advanced-level students and researchers in computer science. This book also targets practitioners working in computer vision or machine learning related fields.

Download or read book 3D Structure from Multiple Images of Large Scale Environments written by Reinhard Koch and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-05-20 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book constitutes the strictly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the European Workshop on 3D Structure from Multiple Images of Large-Scale Environments, SMILE'98, held in conjunction with ECCV'98 in Freiburg, Germany, in June 1998. The 21 revised full papers presented went through two cycles of reviewing and were carefully selected for inclusion in the book. The papers are organized in sections on multiview relations and correspondence search, 3D structure from multiple images, callibration and reconstruction using scene constraints, range integration and augmented reality application.

Book Computer Vision

Download or read book Computer Vision written by Roberto Cipolla and published by Springer. This book was released on 2010-04-06 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer vision is the science and technology of making machines that see. It is concerned with the theory, design and implementation of algorithms that can automatically process visual data to recognize objects, track and recover their shape and spatial layout. The International Computer Vision Summer School - ICVSS was established in 2007 to provide both an objective and clear overview and an in-depth analysis of the state-of-the-art research in Computer Vision. The courses are delivered by world renowned experts in the field, from both academia and industry, and cover both theoretical and practical aspects of real Computer Vision problems. The school is organized every year by University of Cambridge (Computer Vision and Robotics Group) and University of Catania (Image Processing Lab). Different topics are covered each year. A summary of the past Computer Vision Summer Schools can be found at: http://www.dmi.unict.it/icvss This edited volume contains a selection of articles covering some of the talks and tutorials held during the first two editions of the school on topics such as Recognition, Registration and Reconstruction. The chapters provide an in-depth overview of these challenging areas with key references to the existing literature.

Book On 3D Surface Reconstruction Methods

Download or read book On 3D Surface Reconstruction Methods written by Ruud M. Bolle and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We give some indication of the robustness of the various methods. Also, we determine whether the parameter estimates are biased and touch upon the sensitivity to obscuration. The latter two aspects are in particular important for fitting functions in the implicit form. We describe in detail a parametric reconstruction method for 3D object surfaces that involves numeric grid generation techniques and variational principle formulations. This technique is invariant to rigid motion in three-space."
