One of the most common times that we need these words is when we are experiencing a loss or are grieving. Luckily, there have been many wise people who have shared words of wisdom over the years. In this book, you will find a quote for every day of the year that will help you to begin the healing process. There are quotes from famous poets, Buddha, Helen Keller, as well as modern day icons such as Tony Robbins and Maya Angelou. There are also several bible passages as well. When you begin your day, take a moment to read a quote. Sit quietly for a minute and feel how the quote resonates with you and your current situation. Carry these comforting thoughts in your heart throughout the day and you will begin to see that the sense of calm will help you in coping with your loss.

Book Encouragement for the Grieving Heart

Download or read book Encouragement for the Grieving Heart written by C. Cherie Hardy and published by Avant-Garde Books. This book was released on 2013-07-08 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This God-inspired book, Encouragement for the Grieving Heart, contains uplifting and timeless quotes and scriptures that can work as a soothing balm to help ease the pain of loss. While memories can only be deleted by disease and death, they can be healed with the preternatural peace of God that defies human reasoning. As we fervently seek God out, we will discover that He is the Ultimate Comforter. He is willing and able to aid us with navigating through the various stages of grief according to our individual needs. While comfort sometimes seems evasive in the initial moments of grief, it will come by God's amazing grace. Resilience and hope will eventually trump sadness and we will no longer be paralyzed by pain. While rising above the unforgettable moments of loss is possible, it is not easy. Overcoming our grief is not spontaneous and automatic. Moreover, time doesn't necessarily heal all wounds but it does lessen the sting. There will always be scars from loss, but one day those wounds become old and more tolerable to bear. Serenity only comes because we make peace that loss is an aspect of life that we can never change. It is how things are supposed to be--loss is not a mistake or an anomaly. Encouragement for the Grieving Heart is the perfect book for navigating through the healing process.

This book was released on 2017-04-20 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to give comfort to the grieving families. This is a compilations of bible verses and inspiring quotes based on the Word of God. Comforting Words From Scripture for Mourners. Mourning a loved one is always a painful journey, perhaps painful is an understatement. When someone you dearly loved dies, you never quite get over it. You just slowly learn to go on without them. Grief is like living two lives. One where you act as though everything is alright, while the other is where your heart silently cries in sorrow and pain. Some people find the process more difficult than others, either becoming too distraught or holding too much emotion in. Focusing our mind to Jesus, helps mourners follow the normal path to healing. Although it is emotionally straining to cope with loss, it is not out of the ordinary to grieve. It is not a series of events or timelines. Some people get over the pain of losing someone quicker than others. When someone dies, it happens in a moment, but the aftermath lasts a lifetime. Grief has its own imprint, it is unique and distinctive as the person we lost. You may not know how to live through the pain as we struggle to comprehend the devastating loss, although life goes on, you realize nothing will ever be the same again.

Download or read book Grief Healings 365 written by R. Glenn Kelly and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-01-10 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our existence on earth is not infinite. Shortly after the breath of life came to the Garden of Eden, so too did the ultimate reality of death and losing someone loved deeply. Mourning and grief, therefore, are as old as mankind itself, and have frequently been the impassioned topic of many well-known philosophers, poets and profits over the centuries. When grief is heavy it is difficult for any words to ease the pain. Yet, along my own journey towards a "New Normal", I would occasionally pick up renowned quotes, verses or famous lines which seemed to resonate within my aching heart. I held on to those little gems of wisdom, taking comfort in the awareness that almost every soul that ever existed had also traveled the painful path of loss. In Grief Healings 365, I have compiled only those words of wisdom which will motivate you to "Move Forward" in your grief journey. Within these pages are noted and inspirational lines from such greats as Moses, Plato, Lao Tzu, Abraham Lincoln and other brilliant minds of the past. You will also find poetry and pieces of creative works from Shakespeare, Dickens, Twain and others, as well as specific Bible verses, cultural prayers and proverbs on grief. This collection of inspiring daily words is yours to use as you wish. There is a quote for each day of the year, beginning with January 1st on page one, January 2nd on page two, and so forth through December 31st. You do not, however, have to begin this book on page one. In fact, my recommendation is that you begin with the month and day in which you first picked up the book. Keep it at your bedside and begin each day with a new inspiration and carry the thought with you until you fall asleep that night. Almost every page inside has space for you to jot down your own thoughts or interpretations of the day's passage. If you take advantage of this, as you work through each day and return to the page a year later, your own notes will bear witness to how far you moved forward in your journey. Do not stop because you have already read each day throughout the previous year. Instead, continue the inspirational cycle and continue to heal. I do hope the revered words contained within Grief Healings 365 will give you the comfort given to me. May you find relief in the knowledge that throughout the ages there have been those who were committed to healing and moving forward in loss. May you too find peace and purpose in their words.

Download or read book A Year in the Grief Valley written by John Pavlovitz and published by . This book was released on 2014-11-19 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grief is a solitary road. Even if we are fortunate enough to have people alongside us during the journey, (as I have been), no one can really travel all the way with us. Our pain and our path are as individual as the relationship we share with the person we've lost. When my father died suddenly back in September of 2013, I began doing what I always do: I started writing. I did it to somehow make sense of my own grief, and to keep moving through the place I now call The Grief Valley. These seven short chapters, (the first one written just three days after his passing) are some of the most personal things I've ever shared. They're also some of the writings I'm most proud of. I've collected them here, in the hopes that they will be an encouragement and source of comfort for those experiencing loss of someone they love dearly, though I know each path will be a completely different one. This work represents a real-time processing of my first year without my Dad. It's not a "how-to" book by any means, but maybe in my story, you'll find something that you yourself can own; something to make your personal road through the Grief Valley a little more bearable. Be encouraged. Keep walking.

Book A GRIEF OBSERVED Based on a Personal Journal

Download or read book A GRIEF OBSERVED Based on a Personal Journal written by C. S. Lewis and published by Good Press. This book was released on 2023-12-05 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Grief Observed is a collection of Lewis's reflections on the experience of bereavement following the death of his wife, Joy Davidman, in 1960. The book was first published under the pseudonym N.W. Clerk as Lewis wished to avoid identification as the author. Though republished in 1963 after his death under his own name, the text still refers to his wife as "H" (her first name, which she rarely used, was Helen). The book is compiled from the four notebooks which Lewis used to vent and explore his grief. He illustrates the everyday trials of his life without Joy and explores fundamental questions of faith and theodicy. Lewis's step-son (Joy's son) Douglas Gresham points out in his 1994 introduction that the indefinite article 'a' in the title makes it clear that Lewis's grief is not the quintessential grief experience at the loss of a loved one, but one individual's perspective among countless others. The book helped inspire a 1985 television movie Shadowlands, as well as a 1993 film of the same name. Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was a British novelist, poet, academic, medievalist, lay theologian and Christian apologist. He is best known for his fictional work, especially The Screwtape Letters, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Space Trilogy, and for his non-fiction Christian apologetics, such as Mere Christianity, Miracles, and The Problem of Pain.

Book Healing the Grieving Heart

  • Release : 2018-09-21
  • ISBN : 9781727213218

Download or read book Healing the Grieving Heart written by Del McAlister and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-09-21 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We often speak of grief as a journey - one without charts, telescope, or compass. It can be likened to sailing through uncharted waters in dense fog without any knowledge of the sea conditions, weather forecast, or destination. You cannot avoid your grief journey. You cannot choose to disembark. All you can do is hang on for dear life. You will eventually learn to navigate this voyage. The conditions will become familiar, and you'll find ways to adapt. Eventually you will discover some safe havens and calmer waters. In this book I speak of embracing bereavement by regarding grief not as a problem to be borne, but as an expression of love. I also strongly promote the concept of continuing bonds whereby we remain connected to our dear ones after they've died. May you find peace in knowing that you never have to let go of the bond of love between you and your beloved one. I encourage you to open your heart to continue to feel their love in unexpected, personal, and special ways. I trust you will grasp the thread of comfort, messages of healing, and glimmers of hope I have interwoven in these pages, through my writing, and the wisdom shared by others. The intention behind writing this book has been to help people learn to live with grief, not get over it. Instead of beating around the bush, I have chosen to address many raw issues relating to bereavement; issues that many people ignore. My purpose is to provide you with a selection of survival strategies to enable you to better carry your grief. Who better to add to my writings than those who are also grieving? I include their stories to inspire and ignite hope in your heart.
